Lapsed geologist, Chief Scientist at @oceana.bsky.social, dog mom. DC born and raised. Philly is my 2nd home.π Skeets my own, *not* my employerβs. Mostly oceans + science + climate + policy. A little politics (sorry) and Phillies (not sorry).

Oh my gosh, Dawn! So glad you are OK!
(Also, thank you, Canada!)
When the US govt terminated the National Nature Asst, @phillevin.bsky.social + the author team were determined not to let that stop them.
They re-organized, set up an advisory committee, found fundingβ¦and now the brand new Nature Record is open for public comment. ππ³ππ²

NEW FISH WHO DIS
I, too, am in Colorado right now. I don't know why this matters. But I also delivered a GO BIRDS to a liftie this weekend.
βFishβ can be both singular (one individual) and plural (multiple individuals of the same species.) βFishesβ is multiple species.

This is not just any random report. This is a review of how the major federal fisheries on the U.S. west coast are assessed, basically how U.S. fisheries management should be altered so that it works better.

Some examples of USAID and UK aid project signage I saw over a few days (a lot more that I didnβt snap photos if). To Norwayβs credit, they also appear to be funding a lot, especially now. #developmentaid #ghana

I'm just back from Ghana, meeting with fisheries policy people & fishing communities. I saw many USAID-funded efforts that had contributed to poverty alleviation & sustainability. & a few places where UK aid appeared to have stepped in last year. But now?! :(
