On Monday, March 9, the Bearspaw South Feeder Main (BSFM) will be shut down to allow for planned reinforcement repairs to support the stability of the current pipe.

If I've got this right, #yyc has got some water restrictions coming up on March 9. Planned restrictions, which means we have time to prepare! So pretty soon we're going to start seeing some messaging from @calgary.ca to help citizens get ready, right? @jeromyyyc.bsky.social @daorcey.bsky.social
This thread should be a mandatory read for all Albertans

WATCH: Seriously, if youβre following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually canβt make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.
Safe bike-lanes mean business.
If you watch 2 minutes of video todayβ¦
Make it this.
A masterclass on oratory and personal responsibility is on full display.

If we are to have a vote on separation, it should be the Forever Canadian question! It is constitutional and it was the first to achieve the required signatures.
Under no definition of leadership do you start proposing solutions without defining the problem. And no itβs not immigration which has declined sharply in the past 2 years
None of Smith's referendum questions are likely to result in actual policy change.
Because they require constitutional amendments (federal veto) or are plainly unconstitutional.
Assuming "yes" votes carry, what then?
Kenney's equalization referendum didn't soothe separatists. It emboldened them.
Net migration in Alberta. Up, up, up, down, down, down.
Net international migration to Alberta totalled 197 in Q3 2025, down 99% from 32,046 in the same quarter a year prior.

An informative and detailed answer to the question on federal judicial appointments and federal court funding. Not an area I had felt the need to understand until recently
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeareβs Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

And now judges are weighing in.
This is an extraordinary letter.
Glad to see the judiciary standing up for democracy.
Alberta separatism isnβt about independence. Itβs about becoming the 51βst state. Trumpβs eyeing Alberta. Separatists are helping him.

This is the best speech, just from a pure rhetoric perspective - its sophistication and persuasiveness - that I've seen a politician deliver in a good long while. Really recommend watching or reading the whole thing.
This made my day. Thank you
Black-and-white portrait of Dorothea Palmer, an older woman with light, wavy hair in an updo. She smiles gently at the camera, wearing a dark floral-embroidered blouse and beaded necklace. Head-and-shoulders shot on plain background.
Dorothea Palmer said "A woman should be the master of her own body."
She worked to promote birth control in Canada. She was arrested, charged and put on trial.
Her trial, the Eastview Birth Control Trial, became a landmark case in Canada.
This is her story.
