I mean, we're in the same temperate climate. We get a lot of rain here as well.

I think it helped that most message boards were places where people with niche interests could find each other, rather than the general broad approach of modern social media.

This also had some downsides in regards to creating toxic echo chambers, but that has never really gone away anyway 🤷

Honestly, message boards were a simpler and nicer time for the internet?
