For what it's worth, we won't forget the fact that while our members were meeting to brainstorm ways to block and undermine this fascist project at the local level, their governor was calling up the fascist in chief to congratulate him and offer their cooperation. Everyone else might, but not us
Something to look forward to is when the inevitable backlash against Trumpism begins and people like Kathy Hochul (who has been doing her best Neville Chamberlain inlression since the day after the election) try to retroactively portray themselves as having been Resistance Heroes
We can confirm that it has been cold as hell here in Rochester and that the decision made by @seiu1199nw.bsky.social to postpone their picketing a few days was the right call. Hopefully URMHC will stop pushing its workers around and come to the table for real before this turns into a lengthy strike
The point being, of course, that there is literally nobody in America willing to take a job as Trump's attorney general who is worthy of being Attorney General (or even really just an Attorney)
Whether or not the optics of selling the country cheap to a union-busting silicon valley MegaCEO are politically damaging on their own, the very real human suffering that will immediately result from decisions like this this will be what ultimately dooms this whole right wing project

Well, the WFP and particularly the people of the Rochester chapter typically have pretty strong stomachs (lord knows we have plenty of gross politicians just in this city and state to contend with) our local organizers are tough as hell; they're ready for anything
So if you're angry or scared, good; you should be. Trump and all these corrupt right wing ghouls are gearing up to hurt a lot of innocents. But it will be the last time they do so because when we take back power and restore democracy for real, the GOP will have nothing 🗽 so stay strong, we need you!
It's almost nauseating watching the party in DC right now. But the good news is that Trump and his party are so cartoonishly evil that the more they take, the angrier America will become; and once groups like the WFP @workingfamilies.org organize & channel that anger, project 2025 is totally screwed
It must be nice to be so totally bereft of anything resembling a soul or a conscience that you're comfortable taking advantage of a horrific natural disaster to price gouge a bunch of newly homeless fire victims, in a city where housing costs are already out of control

The only thing more annoying than watching so many rich and influential people crawling on their hands and knees to DC to lick Trump's boots is listening to mainstream journalists talk about this revolting display of cowardice and greed like it's some evidence of statesmanship on Trump's part

I currently serve as aide to East District council member Mary Lupien, it’s a huge geographic space to cover part time. (Both CM & their 1 allocated aide are part time)
More smaller districts would mean more time to build stronger connections to community but more importantly-
Suffice to say, the tenants union was not the only allied organization which went all out for this victory. DSA, RAHA, Metro Justice, unions and far too long a list of activists and supporters to fit in one post; they all gave a lot to this fight. When the left stands together, we win
We are proud to have many of the key activists and leaders who fought so hard for this victory as chapter members. Without the efforts of CWTU activists like Lisle Coleman, Oscar Brewer, Ryan Acuff, our friends on city council would have been outvoted and the full Good Cause would not have passed
