I watched Rafiki yesterday and I enjoyed it so much!! The colors were gorgeous and the story was beautiful and packed a punch.

Currently scrolling my phone in a library full of books... if this doesn't say anything about my mental state 😵‍💫

I sadly ended up not finishing the first volume. Maybe I should try reading a book by Sammon first.

I haven't read anything in weeks and now I'm reading the Manner of Death manga - the manga artist didn't know about the school uniforms in Thailand. Other than that it is a bit different from the series, but then again it is based on the book!

Went into the hashtag of a group I like and after one scroll I saw Spanish, a post in a language that uses Cyrillic and Thai? So maybe it works, but no guarantee 🤷🏻‍♀️

I unchecked every language, I think English only is the default (which sucks, bc not everyone is English-speaking only...). I might go into tags and check what I can see now

It does say that if you leave it unchecked, all languages will be displayed, but I haven't tried that out yet 😬

I bought a book from 1992 yesterday at a second hand store that has crossover fanfic of literary characters from the 1800s. Can't wait to read it!

So... uh, might come back here for a bit. Kpop and bl fandom is still mostly on the bird app but I'd rather have a space where I can write my thoughts without Musk looking over my shoulder...

I'm still watching, but at a slower pace. I really got sucked into miseinen and it's taking up all of my brainpower...

The first episode of Thamepo the series was actually quite good!! The production value felt way higher than the general standard for gmmtv bls. It reminded me of the trainee, in a way. I will wait and see (but I am also not afraid to drop it if it isn't to my liking).

I also started learning a new language and it is very taxing but I like it so far 😊 but that has also been on hold since Monday 😭

Haven't been able to read in several days 😭 work took all my energy and today was the last class before exam season 😭

I use mostly they/them pronouns for myself /don't really gender myself without language. But in German... that is whole other story. I truly need to read more about being trans and pronoun options in German/the other languages I know except English....

Just finished reading this German non-fiction graphic novel about gender (Gender-Kram). It made me question the way I basically only interrogate my own queerness through using the English language.

Reading about someone's relationship w their mom that is quite different from mine and yet similar in small things, truly makes me reflect...

Also I am reading a (semi)autobiographical novel and I find the blurring of memoir and fiction very interesting if sometimes confusing, since I do follow this person on social media. Having access to an aspect of a stranger's personality sure is complex

Tried reading a Moomin-book in Swedish today and I realized I read so much slower in Swedish 😭 10 pages took me ages. Whoever thinks children's books in a foreign language are easier, think again...

It's called 고양이 선여 by Bu Hui-Ryeong but I read it in the French translation Féline. It was quite alright, got better towards the end, but the male cat protagonist is infatuated w the female human protagonist. Still, the cat voice and view on human ways of living and interacting was interesting!

I am reading this korean novel from the pov of a cat and it is weird

I ended up not finishing this one. It didn't feel like it had a real throughline for me and the setting was not really my thing. So this will be returned to the library swiftly :)

I have the day off so I finished the book. It wasn't always super well written language wise (please, the bookshop is called "Gay's the word" but otherwise it was a super intense and wonderful reading experience!! I should just read whatever i want tbh
