Some shear rocks jutting up from the beach into mossy cliffs with Sitka spruce perched on top, decorated with usnea. The beach rocks dusted with crusty snow, and the small reflective frozen channel surrounding the cliff bottoms with ice rings. The snow covered mountains of Kenai Fjords National Park in the distance looming over Resurrection Bay. Blue skies with low wispy clouds leading out to the Gulf of Alaska
Went to the beach today

I had this happen with a bottle of Tajin, unopened. They broke the seal and tested it for drugs

No one outside Seattle even seems to make them correctly. Never had a Sonoran, but the Seattle dog was the one keeping me upright at 2am in earlier times

Two things that, as much as I want to deny them, I am finding are very true in Alaska as a woman:
1. The odds are good, but the goods are odd.
2. Women go to Alaska to become the men they always wanted π€‘

Greg Bovino sadly filling one steamer trunk after another with elaborate fashy overcoats, the teargas canisters he always has bouncing around on him like labubus, and dozens of "chest-belts." They will be shipped ahead of him as he prepares to return to his home, which is a men's size 10 boot.

They are trying to criminalize everything we do regardless of whether we have a constitutional right to do it, so you might as well hop in.

A knitting swatch of a light grayish blue alpaca & wool blend yarn still hanging from the circular needles with a wooden gauge ruler lying across the top. It matches the gauge for the pattern, so I am very excited to start!
Babyβs first gauge swatch! As soon as it dries Iβm frogging and starting my first sweater (itβs still attached to the skein)

Looking down at my feet (with my Steiger mukluks) at an open section of ice, the cracks going at least 1β deep, and the water a rich deep green blue below
An early picture looking down lake towards portage glacier, some sparse pink clouds dotting the sky, all the peaks and snow still in shadows as the sun is just barely starting to rise somewhere behind the mountains
A bit further down the lake, on the east side on a wide open patch of ice, the sun still below the mountains, my dog wearing her mushing booties investigating some cracks
Portage glacier from about a half mile away from where Iβm standing in the middle of the far end of the lake. Dry snow covers the ice and makes snowdrifts everywhere. Sun still hasnβt risen yet, everything is early blue hour
Today I walked 5 miles on a frozen lake to see a glacier
