The new controversial health funding aid packages which are replacing USAID to align with America first agenda of the current administration are reportedly linked to granting US greater access to mineral resources and harvesting sensitive health data of Africans w little reciprocity or protections

To be fair, it is likely the first time the Communist League and the League of Communists managed to come together! We'll see if the marriage lasts past this performance...
(Kudos to Monty Python for really helping me understand situations like this!)

Brilliant!
Thank you so much for that. As an author, we are always standing on the shoulders of so many who came and wrote before.
He is thanked in the very important book from the TRC in Maseru on the impact of the Phase I on communities:

I believe he did! There were many who have been critical of it over the years, and his was an important voice.
Thanks for sharing the connection and may his memory be a blessing!
With getting to meet my book in the flesh later and a launch this evening at the Waterfront?!?!
I have big expectations for this day π
Thank you!
And I am waking up in your lovely hometown with birds singing outside in the pre-dawn darkness. It is really lovely
Thinking of you!

In the basement of Snyder-Phillips Hall, is the Michigan State University record label, Bogue Street Records. In collaboration with two other Michigan artists, Worm Moon and bioPrism, the album was performed in the RCAH Theatre on Wednesday.
It really is! They were doing such great work on the K-4 side of the schools.
I am sure, 20 years later, that it is paying great dividends.
It also helped to have public support for it, not just in the schools, but on KYUK with its Yup'ik programming as well!
Amazing news about Alaska Native language revitalization and integration in Alaska pedagogy π
There were certainly many things to criticize about the school district I taught for in Alaska.
But its Yup'ik immersion program was NOT one of them. My then middle and high schools students had missed out on it and were sad about that but the younger generations were getting it (and still are)
Love it!
Sorry, respect for the MAKOROTLO! Even better!
Plus the woven grass hat with the flat top as well when I look closer. Awesome!
Respect for the mokorotlo!
Love it!
In late January, Mywish Maredia was traveling in Myanmar for research when she received a troubling email.
The federal government had cancelled Maredia and her colleaguesβ award, and was ordering them to stop working. The next day she was on a plane back to Michigan, leaving her work unfinished.

Johnβs book is fantastic. A truly staggering amount of detail told with nuance and care, which is hard to do with Cold War geopolitics!

The more I learn about the conflict in Angola and the ways that it was completely intertwined with the Cold War (and sordid, under-handed, "extra-legal" shipments of arms, etc. from all sides), the more wild it gets.
Wild!
I will be around all of Monday prior to the launch and I get it on Saturday morning, so have lots of time in Mangaung. Let's make a plan to meet up for a coffee at some point.

As a person currently serving in a leadership role in a faculty senate, all I can say is this is just a little too on-the-nose to be fiction...
