Gen 10 will mark only the 3rd time that I choose the Fire type starter for my first playthrough. I don’t really have anything against the Fire Starters, it’s just that usually the designs for the Grass and Water ones are fantastic. What exactly would online even look like for these games though? They’re just ports of the originals, which didn’t have online capability either. If they were remaking them and they didn’t have online, then that would be one thing
They’re only free if you have the $50/year subscription tho, this way you buy it once and don’t need to do that
Also game freak reeeeeeally tries to distance itself from those games, they were made by a different studio and it’s kind of a miracle they even had any connectivity with the main series at all

Idk if I was 13 but around that time the Atom was a character I had a large stack of. I loved Sword of the Atom by Strnad, Kane, & Ziuko; Conan-style monster fights on a tiny scale, cool blend of Sci-Fi & Fantasy

Superman had The Spider Lady, kind of a nothing character on the page with a very flat performance, but with enough aura to make up for it.

Watching the 1948 Kirk Alyn Superman serials for the first time, and Pa Kent says that Clark must use his powers in the interests of “Truth, Tolerance, and Justice.” Nearly 80 years ago in the first live action Superman film. Love that the character’s core traits go this far back

Course Oblivion legit made me cry actually. So bleak
If they did it like with Sacha Dhawan’s Master it would have worked way better. Reveal them at the beginning, then they pop up throughout the series as a recurring antagonist so the audience that’s watching the current season can get to know them, rather than needing to watch a 40 year old episode
Ncuti deserved better. The writing for that last season was so bad and he is doing his best to make something out of it, but it was a mess. The Rani/“omega” plot just feels like baseless fanservice for characters that haven’t been seen in nearly 40 years, just like the Sutek thing last season.
Is anyone watching that new Doctor Who spinoff? I keep forgetting it’s out lol
