Key Responsibilities Include:
Answering and documenting incoming calls from clinicians nationally regarding HIV/viral hepatitis transmission prevention, including bloodborne pathogen exposure evaluation and management, and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) initiation.
Utilizing clinical training and relevant practice experience to provide clinical education on specific topics such as: HIV and viral hepatitis screening/testing; HIV post-exposure prophylaxis initiation and management; ARV drug interactions and toxicity; prevention of HBV/HCV transmission, including HBV post-exposure prophylaxis and vaccination; and STI screening and prevention. Required Qualifications Include:
A valid Physician, Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Pharmacist license to practice in the United States.
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in HIV/viral hepatitis prevention and care.

NCCCβs HIV Warmline Project: In 2024, we followed up with eligible HIV Warmline callers who agreed to participate to learn: a) if the patient was still in their care; b)whether our HIV treatment recommendations were used; and c)if available, how the viral load changed. The results were powerful.
