Also just because we re lucky enough in Europe now, how can we take that policy for granted? Policies change, laws change, data stay
SNPs are not that informative (although they do associate with risk, and risk is what insurance companies care about I guess). But I disagree with the argument that just because we allow other data to be used by other companies, we shouldnt worry about DNA data. It's not all or nothing.

Amazing documentary, and a strong slap in the face. If you eat fish, make sure you know where it comes from.
It is sad that even basic research needs to be defended with utility. For me, basic research is in the same category as art: civilized societies can't do without it, because we all want to know who we are and what our place in the natural world is -- questions that only science can answer.
We stand up for science!
Just your friendly reminder that there are alternatives to Mapping apps owned by big companies...
One of them is called OpenStreetMap -- it is crowdsourced and the data is open and non-commercial. Via the API, there are downloadable app versions for your phone.

If you tweet about IWD I'll retweet your gender pay gap
With International Women's Day coming up before too long, any chance someone is building a gender pay gap bot for Bluesky like the one that used to exist on that other app? π www.bbc.com/news/uk-engl...
Congratulations!! Wishing you all the best for this journey! π
