This is Sophia's debut on this account. You can say hello to her. π
Yeahhh π
And why donβt your diverse indie teams have any Black people should have been the real indie conversation
On top of not getting enough work to make up for it too. So it's also a time= money issue because sometimes I'll spend more time on work that I don't get a return for, and that eats into the next week, the next month, etc. Then normal jobs don't pay enough and barely have benefits.
It's like everything is literally more expensive. So at this rate charging cheaper (even when you want to) is literally a risk because even food is more expensive. You want to sell things for a reasonable price all while prices around you for basic needs are egregious or worse.
Ya'll pay more than that for clothes made of cheap material that will tear in a month and shit bags just for the brand name so....make it make sense. OR make me a plate of food with no questions. Have my needs met then you'll get free art and some π₯²ππ
I get tired of hearing this because honestly I make less than most people in my life from art so like...It could be higher.
I could eat more and live a little more....π₯²
....Shit I'm an academic too LOL an academic in WHAT is the question? π
Like...it is not "stigma free" and that's just showing me the very LACK of academic thought.
A lot of people start things off with "I'm an academic" to make themselves seem more credible when in reality the opinion isn'tconnected to the source. Also using mental health (as per the usual tactics) isn't making it better...especially with AI psychosis and how it's not actually helping
"I'm an academic" is where we should have stopped. This is where I stop reading because some "academics" are insensitive and are often separated from those they claim to study and do research for.
They truly only advocate for themselves and don't listen...and this is the case.
My sister unfortunately got into her first car accident. π She's okay, but her car is messed up and that's going to cost a lot...π«

I probably need to get into learning how to do my eyebrows as the hair on my one eyebrow us slowly falling out more π
I considered the eyebrow tattoos too because as Alopecia progresses, I don't know how this will look.
But yeah no rush to that.
Have a good time!!!! β€οΈβ¨οΈ

I'm not saying this to be a jerk, because I think it's a good conversation about how the goal is not to "restore" but to reimagine and build. Going back isn't viable for a lot of us or SAFE and it's not allowing us to imagine a better future.
Whose idea of "virtue" would we be restoring?
I'd argue we never had that to begin with for a verrryyy long time.
If I said a PARTICULAR group of people have been screaming the solutions to ya'll for generations (and warnings) BUT "society" continues to ignore it because they would have to let go of some power to do the work...would ya'll be mad and still not do anything? Also, whose definition of "virtue"?

my art print gallery on INPRNT showing that prints are 40% off
I know I don't go to many art market events, BUT I do have some of my prints on my inprnt shop!
Right now prints are 40% off πΌοΈ π β¨

I find that it really depends on where and some hotels purposely raise prices knowing an event is happening nearbyβ¦. I havenβt had to do all that myself yet.
Anyway, I'll be updating patreon today (for monthly goals and timelapse uploads) and I have a commission to start. πβ¨οΈ
Yeah! I don't get upset about it too much because people take buisness cards and will follow on socials etc. I know people can't buy everything and that's okay! π
We tried....that's all the matters π
(this was at FanExpo Philly from last year).
We stay home now βοΈπΌπβ¨οΈ
(Note: I am not a baller at home I just...make more sales at home...I am not a rich girly)
Also...random hiccups with events themselves, merch (my banner for example came out more red lol) and all of that is stressful.
The organization of events (or lack thereof) can be a huge turn-off, especially if I financially make more off commission work AT HOME.
