If they'd updated the panel on the regular AS display, I'd have ordered one today. But it's the same panel as 2020, which was old then. Yes, it's got Thunderbolt 5 and "new" speakers. But Β£1600 is ridiculous. And the XDR one, which does have the new features, is double the price. Madness.
I was finally going to take the plunge and buy one, but Β£1600 for a 12 year old panel is insane. Not sure what Apple was thinking. Major disappointment.
I know there are many things wrong with the world right now, but this display for this price and this spec is a joke. Way to go Apple.
Spoke to director John Carney about his latest, Power Ballad, which had its world premiere in Dublin last night.

I've not been on socials much these days. But I'm very proud of this little movie - in particular because of the utterly spectacular performances of Ian McKellen and Michael Coel. It was a small film, written and shot on spec. It opens in NY and LA April 10.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed them. And if any publishers out there want a second volume, Iβm always open to writing one.
Although Reece, Steve and I wanted to do a second volume, the publisher didnβt. It was one reason why we did the documentary.
Soderbergh always has interesting things to say and this interview is no exception. Can't wait for his Jaws book, too.

What a shame. Elevated every film/TV show he appeared in. RIP
And Apple!
Itβs on Amazon and Sky to rent/buy in the UK.
Robert Duvall as THX 1138 sitting in an all white void
RIP
RIP Robert Duvall
The Godfather parts 1&2, To Kill A Mockingbird, Network, Apocalypse Now, The Apostle, Colours, Rambling Rose, the list goes on.
Duvall was one of THE great actors of his generation, never better than when playing characters going against their own morality. He was immaculate.
Bon voyage Robert Duvall. You were a goodun.
Small Prophets is a delight. Mackenzie Crook (who lives up the road) is a genius. Roll on series two.

I can still remember the thrill of this moment the first time I saw CE3K. Blew my young mind.
Wow. That's great news. Many congratulations.
Why?
βWhy is AI helping me write a song or tell a story? Send some shit through a black hole; do something that we canβt do. Or dig a ditch; do the shit we donβt want to do. Why is it coming after the stuff that we essentially need to do to be human beings?β
