I'm tired of "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger." We almost had a future of "thriving makes me plump and gentler", and I'm so angry tonight about how we could have had progress, but our neighbors chose suffering...for all of us.

I expect to spend the next four years in a constant state of bewilderment that these embarrassments, injustices, and horrors are endlessly normalized by our electeds and the press. Hegseth even getting a hearing would have been unthinkable 10 yrs ago. Now? Par for the dystopian course.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I would just not.

It's not only the incoming horrors, it's the opportunity cost: the loss of the future we almost had, the possibility and progress within our reach that voters rejected in favor of this timeline where we all will suffer.
