Favourite Woodstock moments: Bob the Bear giving a cigarette to a stage invader; Richie Havens; "See Me, Feel Me"; Sly and The Family Stone and the late Country Joe singing "Fixin to die". Hats off to him.

Tatie talk: Jersey Royals only exist as a PR brand name. They are actually a variety called International Kidney. A bloke in MasterChef just said he was using them but his tates are way too big and the wrong shape.

Maybe Norman Lamont tipped him off. I only met Gove once - we were both at a roller disco vainly trying to catch up to Bob Servant's ex-squeeze so there was no chat beyond exerted grunts exchanged.

For some completely unfathomable reason lately I get the Spectator magazine in the post every week - sticker priced at six quid. It is very very middle class and quite Tory so I am totally the wrong demographic.

Serving luncheon early today ahead of the lunchtime kickoff.

Cheese and bacon rolls, spiced pickled onions and hula hoops.

I planted early potatoes, rotovated the land ready for spring and refined my brassica strategy. Also planned the removal of a dead redcurrant tree. And witnessed the end of the rat saga. Happy days.

I am inordinately proud that there is an English folk song whose lyrics features both the words Rotherham and dumbfounded. see John Martyn for the best rendition.

Did someone a favour and they bought me a soil thermometer with a long probe to check compost heap. Left it in overnight after cutting grass and covering It with winter compost. It read 65 degrees C so that'll do.

Anyone with a spare minute read Graham Gouldmans lyrics to No milk today popularised by Herman's Hermits. Relentlessly upbeat melody concealing relentlessly downbeat suicidal lyrics which the 10 year old me never noticed.

I know a person whose daughter is an air hostess for Emirates. They live in a flat in Dubai.

There is nothing like a few football matches to knock politics, ugly war and foul corruptions down the twitter trending list.

I dreamed last night that loads of YouTube videos appeared with dead people passing on messages to their loved ones from heaven. Sadly my dog awoke me to tell me he badly needed a wee so I don't know how it ends. There's a film script in there somewhere.

The 'makes 43 litres' tub of Bisto has to go down as one of my more esoteric lockdown purchases. My 1980s repro gravy tin is becoming an antique in its own right.

I was musing about the Gasheads this morning and remembered I wrote a piece about Bristol Rovers for CA in 2004 which has some entertaining history stuff. Please can someone going tomorrow let me know if they still sing Goodnight Irene.
