For me to get invested a show, I have to care what happens to the characters. I think we need more characters who viewers can admire & aspire to be more like. Characters who deserve to achieve their goals.
I'm a fan of characters who are constantly underestimated but who tend to be right. That describes Bradley Whitford's Dan Stark (Good Guys). And Bobby Hobbes on SyFy's Invisible Man TV series

I think the wobbly nature of early AOS was because they were killing time until Winter Soldier turned over the chess board. They were locked & loaded to incorporate the Hydra infiltration into the series. AOS to my mind distilled alot of the Whedon approach to storytelling.
Actually Vince himself has kinda turned on his own creation in the last year or two. And I was already way ahead of him on that.
Actually I think Jed Whedon & his wife Maurissa did a great job bringing that Whedon quality to Agents of Shield.
It's kind of amazing that when faced with people trying to destroy the world, those who oppose such a thing can't find an escape hatch from "But the rules"!!!

The rising tide isn't billionaires/corporations. It's the sea of 340+ million people in this country. When govt serves everyone equally/reliably, stability is achieved. Stability means people have disposable income. That results in spending/growth
The lack of empathy that might hurt your enemy today is the lack of empathy that'll hurt you/those you care about tomorrow. Create a system that only works for some people some of the time & odds are you'll suffer from that at some point. The most reliable system is one that serves everyone equally
Y'know how Musk said empathy was bad? We need to use that against Repubs. Hammer it as a defining quality fur them. There's s not a single person in this country who hasn't had a problem they thought the govt should care about & not a single one who hasn't suffered as a result of govt not caring.
I'm always shocked that anyone has jaws capable of dropping at this point. To me, Trump hit bottom a long time ago. It just turns out there's a lot square footage down there. Totally open floor plan.
