This week’s progress on Fylgja I’ve got about 12 cm 5 inches done I’m on the last row of the Estonian braid and next is the actual charted section. Pattern photo included for reference

Pro democracy. Anti fascism Pro human rights Old, slightly cantankerous and sarcastic AF. Grateful for all I have been blessed with and pray for it to extended universally. Oh yeah, I have actually read a history book.

Looks terrific. Congratulations. It’s the first of many I’m sure.
Your post resonates. I just cast on a sock today to have a project to work on while my hubby is undergoing radiation cancer treatments.
It’s a Kroy sock blend

I haven’t cast on a pair of socks since God was a girl, so this project has been fits and starts. I needed a small travel project for the next month or so. Technique is a tad rusty. This is cast on #6 but I finally got something I can live with.
One of the best investments I made in my knitting was to book an appointment with a professional seamstress to have a full proper set of measurements done for me. Of course I offered to pay her for her time but in this case she refused. (She did gain a customer in the long run.)
That’s terrific
I get that. I’m severely visually impaired. Injuries do slow us down
Neither had I. I understand that it’s a popular design feature in Baltic nations knitting
Thank you for your kind words
Estonian braid —a very tedious lateral braid.
#knitsky #fylgja
My first ever use of a lateral braid in knitting. It’s very tedious and very slow because it’s persnickity AF. I spent an afternoon learning it on scrap yarn & big needles. It now takes about 1 minute per stitch to form so this row is about 7 hours to knit. Wish I had lace points
This week’s progress just shy of the 2 rows of Estonian Braid.

My weekly progress of Fylgja — Norwegian Spirit Animal cardigan. I’ve finished the blue band and spent today learning how to do an Estonian braid. It was challenging but I’ve come through it. I’m looking forward to get into that so I can start on the actual charts.
Aaaarrrggggghhhhhhh!!
This weeks progress. 5 more rows to this mirrored band

I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted this week. Life can be most disruptive to our plans at times. In any event I’m closer to finishing this blue band. 5 rows left to go and then it’s onto the Estonian braid section.
Im just shy of 10 cm/4 inches in length
Two points to consider— you can’t go wrong with mohair and you can’t go wrong with more purple. Let’er rip!!
YAY!

This week’s progress on Fylgja — my 2026 challenge cardigan.
The blue band is mirrored, followed by a few rows of Estonian braids. Learning that be next week’s task
Yes it is. My husband says if he ever needs incontrovertible proof that I’m barking mad, he’ll just drag this into the judge and it’ll be a done deal.

A week’s progress on my 2026 challenge project — Fylgja. It’s going to be slow progress because each row is 401 stitches which means I’m not keen on ripping back to deal with a mistake. Especially if it’s a few rows back. Lots of stitch counting in my future
Cat sleeping on a newly blocked sweater
#knitsky
Monies —I spent weeks and weeks crawling into the knitting basket, sleeping on projects, trying to get the correct ratio of cat fur to wool established. And then YOU destroyed all my labour by blocking it. Now I have to start all over AGAIN!!
Moonlight tee in 2 shades of blue set out for blocking
#knitsky.
It’s been off the needles for 2 weeks but I finally got around to blocking it. Moonlight tee done in Candide size 2 X. I added more body length and an additional repeat of one lace chart at the sleeves . I’m too old for crop tops and I want sleeves that hide the bat wings
Never this detailed. I’ve done yokes or cuffs or a small band.

Just started swatching for my big 2026 project Fylgja Spirit Animals — on Ravelry. It’s the most ambitious stranded knitting project I’ve ever tackled.
Why am I not surprised??!
Santa Paws brought me a catnip taco. Yeah to the fat guy. Merry Christmas everyone
Usually I print larger print. Charts I usually use the original size or maybe a little bigger and I colour code it with a highlighter. I have a large magnifier—desk size — to help with seeing. Also I also make knitting blueprints to condense the patterns to a page or two— charts separate
#knitsky. As a severely visually impaired person, counting stitches on the gauge swatch was always a difficult task. Today I finally figured out to flip the swatch over and count purl bumps instead of V knit stitches. So much better!! Passing it on if it can help others
No. You do not have that right and I suspect you are fully aware of the difference between the Saudi government and a handful of Saudi terrorists.
An early #caturday. Our new kitten came to us a week ago. He’s a shy boy but is starting to settle in. Once he gets over his timid streak, he’s gearing up to be a first class bad ass. His name is Saahas. Probably should be changed to Mischief
