There were more butts in seats in this stadium for the Weds night 2024 US Open Cup final that there were only a few weeks to promote than there are for this gorgeous Saturday afternoon league opener that there has been twice as much time to promote.

It *is* but - and this one is definitely just me being me - I call that "one block east of Cornell".
Like my brain just really really doesn't want to validate Hyde Park Boulevard as a street name.
I also always do "King Drive"
Am I weird for: I think I only say State *Street* to refer to it in the Loop, but not outside of it (in either direction).
Was about to say this thing about intersections - even roads that keep their title lose it when it's an intersection
yes, absolutely, regarding the Irving Park Road example - however, if I refer to an intersection, it's just Irving Park without the Road or even Park (e.g. "Irving and Ashland")
also, maybe this is my toxic trait, but Hyde Park Blvd is just 51st St in my brain...
Please. I want to read the dense nerd shit articles with graphics and stats and predicted starting XIs and transfer intrigue and fan vs front office tension and the business side and rivalries and...and...and...
If you write them, I will read, and repost, and comment. And most importantly: pay.
Are they though? Fatigue makes it sound like "wow those fans are tired of too many games". Not "fans are pissed at you for cutting a very specific set of important games in a cash grab"
I feel like I go through phases where I need to use Tupperware and everything fits *exactly* right no matter what and others where, despite my best attempt, every container is the wrong size. I'm currently riding the high of Tupperware perfection and I hope to keep it that way.
My day today--using only CTA and on foot--ranges:
10000 S to 5200 N
and
1600 E to 3700 W
In other words, this book club book *will* get read
Can't they just cut funding to their private police force to fund actually beneficial public research?
Why did I only just now start putting ice cream on a toaster waffle?
I'm too young to remember 9/11, but I remember this, and I am confident that still impacts me today.
I remember it. I was in 5th grade in Austin. Another teacher came and whispered to my teacher. He closed the blinds and kept teaching but we could all tell something was wrong.
He later told us he didn't say anything in case someone's family worked in that building.
I AM FILLED WITH SO MUCH JOY!!!
Somehow they will mess this up just by virtue of it being in Lakeview. But I can dream that there will finally be a proper local donut shop on the North Side
"Broadway between Foster and Devon"
When I lived in Hyde Park and fares were $2 to the loop, I took Metra over the 6. When they went up to $4, that flipped. It's not rocket science.
Don't do that to the lake. It deserves to be free of all of the takes sinking to its depths.
Ring took the PK away at RSL in 2024 for the consolation goal in the 5-1 loss
I believe the format is that 1 and 2 will enter a draw for which R16 matchup they have...
(Which, I will add, I think is silly.)
The ADL lost the fucking plot a while ago.
Makes total sense and that would be my guess as well. No one is truly exempt from the North Side to Skokie to Somewhere Even Farther pipeline.
I have read Battle of Lincoln Park! One of my favorite Chicago-focused books.
Question I asked here a while ago that you may know the answer to re: this thread. Do you know why River North/Old Town and Kenwood don't have large Japanese American communities anymore? Interested in info/sources about that
This is a huge acknowledgement. All of the workers who go into making something, not just the stars, deserve a union. And that union is one of the best ways to fight against abuse on the job.
The West Wing broke an entire generation of Democratic Party operatives.
How much of that transfer fee would NWSL roster rules allow them to turn around and spend on new players?
Hype to see the Red Stars over here ๐
Did MLSPA agree to that last part?
