This beast caught a viral infection called ECE from the new baby ferret. Thankfully we caught it early and she’s on the mend. She’s super excited I’ve stopped shoving antibiotics down her throat.

Tonight’s deep thoughts before I fall asleep.

I hate social media. I hate how it’s degraded society. How everyone thinks they can spew hate from behind a screen and there’s no accountability.

But in an effort to actually sell more books, I need to think of it as a necessary evil.

I’d love to get more pictures of the baby ferret, but he never stops moving. The best I can do is when he’s stuck in a carrier with one of his sisters passed out after a vaccine. She used him as a pillow and he didn’t seem to care.

I’m so sorry to hear about this. We had a similar experience with my Nyx. It’s so frustrating to know they’re not feeling well, but can’t get the vets to take more urgency.

My business of 4 is now a business of 5. This little boy was so lonely and sad, I needed to show him what it was to have a home and sisters and love!!

Surgery went well. But for the next 5 days I have to keep her from acting…well…like a cat. No jumping, running, or climbing. And when this is all done and said, she’s going to be more angry about her surgical suit, than the actual surgery.

Sitting here waiting to hear if my 15 1/2 year old cat is doing well after surgery is agonizing.

It turns out that I am paying the tariff fee. 160.00 dollars to ship an item over seas. Tariff paid by me, the consumer. Fuck Trump. Fuck the GOP. Fuck the cowards that keep him in power.

The package was supposed to be delivered by DHL today. I get a text and email last night letting me know that I now owe another 111.00 on top of the 50.00 I already paid for Import Duty Payment. So, I googled it, because I don't believe anything at face value anymore.

I don't ever want to hear the GOP talking line of the consumers don't pay the tariffs again. They are nothing but liars.

Ordered a Christmas gift for my mom from Britain. It was not cheap, but it is something I know she will love and wanted to get her. I paid 50.00 in shipping at purchase.

Writing urban fantasy means balancing magic, mayhem, and characters who really need therapy. Honestly, I should start charging them.

I learned that mixing their meds with some salmon oil hides the taste and makes for a happy ferret!

I don't know what it is about this line that I love so much. It's simple and without my usual brand of snark, but something about it resonated with me while I was editing today.

After what happened today, I think it’s time for a social media break for a little bit. While I have sympathy for his wife and two very small children, I don’t think I can handle the finger pointing and blame that’s going to run rampant for the near future.

I know I’m supposed to building a following by writing engaging content. But man my life is boring! So unless you want to see lots of pictures of cat, ferrets, dogs, and an occasional book or editing post, I’m probably going to fail on gaining a ton of followers.

I’ve been away from my #writing for two weeks now since my mom was in the hospital. And now I have anxiety about starting again tomorrow. So, I’m making a writing goal of 200 words. If I hit it, I’ll feel good. Baby steps.
