Honestly it should be illegal to advertise HDR if it doesn't have full array local dimming and a minimum brightness. Making my monitor dimmer is not HDR lmao

one of the funniest things display manufacturers will do is implement HDR in the firmware of a traditional LCD display despite not having any of the hardware to really do what HDR is supposed to do so you just end up with an HDR mode that makes everything look worse with no benefit
