It kinda stands out that even with all the current shit Starmer beats all the options including Farage in a landslide.
They are literally a page sharing thier exact location

First response to what is a potentially a volatile situation with them ship.
He has a legal responsibility to protect that ship.
The plane is there to watch Israel, not a few protesters.
Israel absolutely will act more cautiously and hopefully legally with the fact the Starmer has sent a spy plane to watch what's going on.
The plane is there to watch Israel.
I'm sorry for being short but this is really really. Rightly or wrongly Israel has been given a metric ton of modern weaponry and defence. They know exactly where it is and know how to destroy it.
The people on the ship don't give a fuck Starmer is watching what's going on.
What is wrong with the Spy plane? To me it's more an action today protect it then attack it.
Why is sending a spy plane so wrong. Seems like a way to signal he would intervene if Israel too hostile action.
Seems more like a sending a signal to Israel, fairly standard diplomacy tbh.
What's wrong with the Spy plane exactly? Doest he have a responsibility to to keep them safe under maritime law?
Doing nothing could be negligence. Fighter jets could be overkill.
Could mean a lot of things such as sending a simple sign to Netanyahu that we are keeping an eye on this ship and intend to follow our internal obligations etc.
He has a legal responsibility to keep them safe, under maritime law. A plane to keep an eye on over a potentially volatile situation is surely an appropriate first response? Especially since Israel has been threatening them?
Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding what's happened here.
It's because the net approval is negative indicating more people disapprove than approve. No conspiracy.
My point is labour didn't have that many seats to lose. So even if they didn't many seats of its seats from labour, labour could have still lost lots of it's seats to reform
Don't think about it in terms of raw numbers. If Labour lost that many seats that % went reform and what % went wherever else.
It's not that simple. Tories have lost Devon to the Libs. Labour lost loads to reform in Durham.
Also if you listen to what a lot of the reform voters want it sounds like Labour lost votes to them for being too right wing which makes it even messier.
It adjusts for areas that didn't have council elections. John Curtice doesn't bang rocks together for a living.
You have to remember this set of elections is kinda the Tories base. And they are set to come third place.
Labour's base-punching strategy reminds of the Seinfeld episode where George is so obsessed with making Jerry's girlfriend like him (she clearly hates him) that he neglects his own girlfriend (who does like him) and she leaves him
Again?
I'm just saying they are both getting hurt about the same but it's one thing to have a shit night when in government, but it takes a lot to have a bad night in opposition.
Looks like they are both getting hurt about the same, losing 2/3s of thier seats.
To me the choice feels like a party that did austerity 15 years ago took a beating for it and may or may not have learned from it vs a party doing it now and proudly plowing ahead with certainty.
It's the second.
Tories are coming off a high point where they could only go down.
Labour are coming from a low point where the assumption was they didn't have that many seats left to lose.
It's impressive how unpopular Kemi is when all she has to do is point out the unpopular things Starmer is doing. Instead of fighting paper bags and shit talking sandwiches.
I'm more just pondering to myself. Starmer's popularity makes sense. He's done unpopular things in short term betting it will make him popular in long term.
Farage is treated like he's the most popular politician in the country when his unpopularity is probably the most entrenched.
I feel like activists / lawyers could have a field day with this ruling and force parliament to act.
It's kinda insane that Starmer is the most popular of the big 3 and more popular than a 5 month old leader of the opposition.
Tactical voting is when you vote for your second or third choice to keep a party you hate out.
Tactical voting collapsed between 2015 and 2019 as Labour voters resented Liberals Democrats for going into government with the Tories and Liberal Democrats voters didn't like the Labour leader.
It's really not that simple. Overall they might lose more votes to lib dems and greens (which I'm still a bit sus on) but a lot of these are in safer seats.
