It's painful how many states are considering bills to cut disability services/programs right now. One aspect that makes it very painful is that it's not coming from an inherently evil ableist place...it has to do with Medicaid cuts.

Seeing thus news about Jon Stewart felt like a gut punch. It’s hard enough being immune compromised w/out people questioning why you need to protect yourself when others won’t.
Jon Stewart has some absolute fucking NERVE to be making fun of Long COVID survivors and people still masking on his piece of shit podcast when he’s seen UP CLOSE the government deny healthcare and resources for 9/11 survivors who breathed in toxic air and are suffering decades later.

It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin.
