Has anybody else ordered and not received their exchange disc for Media Blasters' Kamen Rider Dyad BD? I just realized I ordered mine like 2 months ago and haven't even gotten a shipping notification.
And I want to be specific, it is an exchange disc you specifically had to order, which I did do.
I mean the Scopedog's eye itself was inspired by existing camera lens turrets, but the shape on this headset is so close that it's probably not a coincidence.

Another thought as to what maybe Discotek could improve on previous Patlabor releases! MiniPato has always looked like junk in HD, likely due to a botched conversion from interlaced to progressive. It's something that would probably benefit from an AstroRes pass or whatnot.

Yup, I saw that! In general I trust Discotek to turn in good work anyway, but those styled subs look real nice. Hopefully the work extends to doing a polish pass on the scripts.
It's not like TNG Patlabor is even all that good, but it would be pretty rad to have a domestic release for completionists, and Discotek releases plenty of live-action and toku series already.
Also this is putting the cart way ahead of the horse, but we now have a better chance than ever of TNG Patlabor coming here. Your only option for English subs before were officially but inconsistently subtitled BDs for the HK market. It was a mix of lifted fansub scripts and your typical bad HK subs
The old CPM releases also included a few commentary tracks that never made the trip over to Maiden Japan's Blu-rays. Would love to see those included too.
Oh man, if Discotek releases the movies, that means there's a chance that the Manga UK dub may actually be attached to an HD home version!
Assuming that Discotek will go on to rerelease the rest of Patlabor, I hope they address a bunch of the issues with the old subs — mostly weird annoying TL notes, but also an inconsistent translation of the eco-terrorist group 海の家. I'd upgrade for sure. Thread below:
