I know a few people who made similar in Resonite.

If you set it up right you can make sure the person ends up right back where they belong every time they rejoin~

And if people are using Restrainite then even more "safety" can be had.

As someone with over a decade of experience programing using LSL in Second Life.

Resonite is much much closer to SL than VRC. In game building allows for a lot more "interactivity" between users, objects and the world, and even cross worlds, even more so than in SL in a lot of cases.

As it's not the marketplaces that are often the problem, but rather the payment processors denying working with the marketplaces giving them no choice.

This whole BS needs to stop. Going with stripe isn't going to solve the issues either, as they may start cracking down as well, you still have a centralized system in control.

We need laws against payment processors denying payments or a new payment processor/bank that doesn't have this issue.

Oh don't get me wrong, I do agree with all of this. However my theory is it does matter as having very few customers keeps you from making a living.

It sucks that larger companies are screwing over artists, but also individual hosting has it's own range of issues as well.

There is a reason centralized Marketplaces are popular and it's because end users only have to go to one place to find everyone and these places are "trusted" to not scam the end user.

There is a reason "don't click unknown links" is so ingrained.

But setting up individual systems where customers will have to "hunt" these down doesn't help all that much.

On top of customers not trusting unknown sites. As it "feels shady" and "possibly insecure"

Confirmation bias is the most powerful tool for keeping your wold view "safe" no matter how flawed it is.

And a final reason (just off the top of my head there may be others). They felt like people kept pushing, and now they hate it by virtue of feeling pushed.

Again needing to apply logic to an emotional response focusing on flaws gives it that sense of logic as conformation bias.

Other times it's just a new person sees flaws experienced users ignore. This can come off as an attack against something you love even though nothing is meant by it.

But the above also goes for their own fav platform, they don't see the flaws in it anymore, causing it to be more negative and bias.

I'm going to take your "I don't understand" and give unauthorized explanations your statement!

Often times it is to convince themselves they hate it. People typically don't like change, so looking for flaws on something new is an attempt to add logic to an emotional response of "new = bad".

However once you get into one of the adult communities people are often very happy to share.

I'm often more than happy to show off my work (I've personally done an Inanimate TF system, hypno visor, petrifaction system and a few bdsm related things)

People tend to not make their adult content in very public (due to not wanting minors to get a hold if it).

And with it being a rather small community, it doesn't take more than one cool post going viral to suddenly have a lot of rumors about it being just "the kink vr place"

Plus $10/YEAR for 5GB is great with the de-duplication, it'll last a very very very long while with that space unless you are doing something like uploading full movies.

There is some tricks you can do to get around the limited cloud storage.

First off Resonite has amazing de-duplication (50 of the same avatar will take the space of 1 + changes)

But you can export as Resonite packages which can be drag and dropped uploaded easily.

I actually made an Inanimate TF system a long while ago... isn't as super detailed (no real animation effect for the transformation) but I got the basics done.

Been thinking about CTF variation for a bit, but I haven't taken the time to really flesh it out especially as cocks aren't as standardized

Oh and don't forget the many people who want to use Generative AI images to show the horrors of Generative AI (as examples) or how to spot Generative AI.

A blanket ban on AI means you can't even use AI to help stop AI.

Basically it's super rare, but it does exist. And because it does exist with good use cases banning it outright doesn't really work well.

Especially when you just use Adobe's Content Aware Fill and not even know that's generative AI.

Actually there has been a few.

Adobe while I don't like them, does use their backlog of stock images (which they have the rights to use anyway they wish) for things like Content Aware Fill.

Steam even has a separate note for "AI used in creation" vs "AI used in play" for this very reason.

Note I'm not defending AI. Just saying it "Can" be done well... just no one does.

It also sets a precedent where the devs are now banning things they personally don't like arbitrarily.

As once you start arbitrarily banning things off of opinions eventually they will ban something you do like and enjoy limiting your own creative freedom.

It's a mixed bag, depending on what you are looking for you can either have a decent number of people or no one.

A lot of people are off in private worlds working on their own projects but there are a few events for meeting people.

Including 18+ groups/events that get together often weekly.
