The entertainment industry makes billions annually and yet so many of us are out of work due to artificial studio-made job scarcity. This isn't a career anymore, it's a gig economy. How can we make the next hit in a field that spits us out faster than it can chew us up?
Studios and developers want instant financial success and cite media like Spongebob- a show that did not do super well in the ratings for two seasons and was granted a third anyway. This industry used to grant time and trust to let things develop, find a voice, find an audience, be marketed.
Studios are SO unwilling to take any risks. Instead they spend YEARS developing, making creators go back to the drawing board OVER & OVER instead of trusting and taking a risk. Then, by some miracle when these shows finally debut & aren't hits, things get worse. You need more shows to get more hits.
In animation we hear "We want the next Bluey". The cost of doing business used to be making a hundred shows to get a Spongebob. All the other shows? A lot will still make money, and the talent who worked on them could give you the next Bluey.

Sonic 3 absolutely ruled. It knew exactly what it was and moved the plot at breakneck speed so we could just see the coolest parts and my little DBZ loving heart had the best time!!!

I never went past like…the first two levels of Mario Odyssey for some reason. Since new games and Mario feels kind of nostalgic/Christmassy to me I decided to restart and my god what a charming game!!! Love to rot on my couch on Christmas 😌
