The Trump indictment lays out, in exact details, how named senior administration officials planned to stage their coup and then use the US military to violently crush all of us when we took to the streets. It's stunning.
Marion County Commissioners sign off on millions in contracts every month.
The public records that document these contracts are buried on the county website as hundreds of pages of clunky PDFs.
We created the Marion County Public Spending Digest to help shine some light on billions in spending.
Airline startup wagers on aging municipal airport. The City of Salem bears the entire financial risk, on top of millions in public funds already committed for upgrades to handle commercial air travel.

You may have heard Nike legend Phil Knight writes huge checks to support causes he believes in.
But did you know he recently became the chief stakeholder in the Oregon GOP?

Crowd of kids fleeing attacking riot cops
Cops with absurd amount of zip ties menacing kettled kids late into the night before mass arresting them
Cops in San Francisco attacked a group of children at an annual skate event today using riot gear causing a mass panic.
Completely unprovoked, cops kettled, beat, and fired munitions at the teens. 50-60 were trapped by cops w/o food, water, or medical for hours from the afternoon past midnight.
Oregonβs GOP continues to distill itself down to the worst people advancing the worst ideas.
Sure, these ideas & conspiracies keep their base feeling righteously hopeful.
But outside that bubble, where truth and reality live, courts seem to have little patience for their infinite shenanigans.
Unsuccessful Republican candidates and others filed suit against Oregon's vote-by-mail election system. Judge tossed it, saying they lack standing. @jmshumway.bsky.social https://oregoncapitalchronicle.com/briefs/federal-judge-tosses-oregon-lawsuit-over-mail-voting-tabulation-machines/
If you live in western Oregon, thereβs a chance youβve heard of Caesar the No Drama Llama.
Unfortunately, drama had located Caesar and his owner, Larry McCool. Drama in the form of a lunatic right-wing extremist targeting the beloved llama because of (checks notes)β¦a beer company.
Between Breath of the Wild (which Iβve been playing for years) and Tears of the Kingdom (just starting out) - I donβt think Iβll need another video game for the next decade.

The word yikes written in a very old English, Shakespearean way.
On the surface, Keizer, Oregon, Mayor Cathy Clark inviting a local school board director to a city council meeting to talk about the issue of youth suicide doesnβt raise any red flags.
But the invitation, and Salem-Keizer School Board Director Satya Chandragiriβs presentation, were bizarre.
I decided to write about why people who rely on social media for work-related stuff really should start a mailing list, even if they don't plan on starting an actual newsletter anytime soon (or ever). https://www.readtpa.com/p/you-yes-you-should-start-a-mailing
Hey Parker! These are the instructions BlueSky supplies for creating custom feeds - is that what you followed to make yours? https://github.com/bluesky-social/feed-generator
You mention it in your first footnote, but itβs good practice to download your mailing list every now and then (depending on how quickly you accrue subs) - I try to download mine 2x/quarter.
Screencapture of a Tweet from Rundown AI promoting their new Moonwalkers AI shoe. Which is basically just roller skates and looks a lot like Heelys.
I'm serious when I say that STEM without the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities will produce more "innovative" tech bros who giddily reinvent rent, roommates, taxes, and...roller skates. With complete, straight-faced, sincerity. This is a problem. And I have a list (So, a thread )

I covered this weird youth suicide presentation here: https://open.substack.com/pub/salemkeizerproletariat/p/keizer-oregon-youth-suicide
And this happened against a backdrop of elected officials in Keizer creating rules that help those in power more closely guard the gates into Keizerβs ruling class. Including a rule barring the same teen researcher from serving his otherwise legal appointment to a powerful city committee.
Despite the teen urging that existing methods for lowering teen suicide rates arenβt working, Chandragiri gave a presentation consisting entirely of antiquated resources and tone-deaf solutions.
Clark invited her friend and Republican ally Chandragiri instead of taking up a local 17 year old youth suicide researcher and activist on an offer to address the council on this serious issue.

For those looking to find the people they follow on Twitter who are here on Bluesky. I just did it and it seemed to work pretty well.

Hey wait, the bible sounds a little awesomeβ¦
Mannix did show up for work, but it's arguable that he choose to represent his donors and prison industry friends rather than the people of Salem and Keizer.
His focus didn't seem to be on Keizer, though - he failed to secure money to improve playing fields at Keizer Rapids.
And Keizer City Council's recent ask to Thatcher for her support in carving out $750k for a local capital project went unanswered.
If you can't at least bring pork home to your district - what the fuck are we even doing?
