Like obviously he's a terrible asshole but do his aides really think he will notice or care if they discretely swap them for the correct size???

Maybe I'm too sensible but if my boss bought me clothes that don't fit and I thought it was worth pretending that they did, I would have change/resell/whatever the original and purchase the same style in a size that fits.
Just baffling amounts of sucking up and fear happening here.
Basically, take the amount of money you think your favorite author gets, halve it, and then halve it again, and you have a number that's probably a lot closer to their actual earnings from writing.
"But I don't think they make that much!"
Halve that. Halve it again.
we were probably all up last night staring at the ceiling with our own version of the same thought running on endless loop, but mine looked something like this:
I hate these people to a degree that feels simultaneously corrosive to the soul, and also the only righteous response to this kind of evil
In January, Jeffries declined to whip against DHS funding. Then DHS murdered Alex Pretti, and Dems had to play catchup to the politics. Now Jeffries won't commit to whip against Trump's war. This isn't rocket science - unify Dems against bad and unpopular things! www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...

Purity culture *is* pedophilia and rape culture. It inherently sexualizes children, keeps them ignorant and controlled, and victim-blames them when they are abused. There's nothing redemptive or protective about it.

Give me my fucking hour back. I need it
So the hard drives for MRI machines are unavailable and now the helium they need is off the market too
"what do you mean bluesky is an echo chamber," I demand as I join the time war against the Ingalls family
When all the other time travelers are busy killing Hitler, Iβm gonna take out Laura Ingalls Wilder.
This is absolutely hilarious and deserves a Veep-style TV adaptation.
As this was happening you were told shoplifting and home invasions were grave threats you needed to abandon any pretense of sympathy to address.
I tell myself this every time I get takeout or order pre-made meals. Ancient Roman apartment dwellers didn't cook for themselves, so why am I expected to?
I needed this rn

Goddammit.
Every time! And we know they're human controllers because the second we have a workable prototype of a washer/dryer/robot folder they would sell it for like $100,000 to start with and it would sell like hotcakes.
They're going to write books about all the big brain moves of this gang of imbeciles and among them will be "Spending a year trying to kill renewable energy and then launching a war that sends oil prices soaring"

We're at a point where there are no cheap options to retreat to and no price points that guarantee quality. Every run-down studio is $1400, every fast food meal is $17, every luxury condo has peel-n-stick tiles, every $300 pair of boots falls apart. Endless expensive mediocrity.
Every single time a new outlet feels compelled to interview an unremarkable billionaire they should pause and ask themselves if there isn't an under-represented artist, scientist, activist, engineer, or academic actually doing useful/interesting things that's more deserving of your readership's time
Hawaii: you're up. Call your House representatives and tell them to oppose SB 2761, which is heading to the House from the Senate: it's a total ban on social media for under-16s, not made any better by the obvious typo in the effective date of 2077. legiscan.com/HI/bill/SB27...
this is a great question and one i encourage our students to ask BEFORE they start building
bc it's fun to fantasize about the thing you wanna build, it's not fun* to imagine the entire system of a business in reality
*i think it's actually immense fun, but it's a lot less masturbatory
Gosh if only someone had loudly warned about how an entire popular "left" influencer scene was a pipeline to the far right.
I'm sure if that person had existed she definitely would not have faced a year of misogynistic harassment and ridicule from much of the rest of the online left.
Running for Congress on a platform of sneaking into Polymarket HQ and unplugging all their stuff. Overflow crowds at a local Knights of Columbus hall roar with delight as I promise to pour Florida's Natural Grapefruit Juice (with pulp) into the USB-C port of every computer in the damn place.
Letβs talk about Graham Platnerβs Big Lie, finally. In 2009, at the height of the Gulf War, the Marines barred him from active duty. Platner claims it was his forearm tattoos. But his one forbidden tattoo was the Nazi symbol on his chest. He knew - and he left the Marines rather than give it up. 1/
Once again making the haunted doll argument here: if you truly believe that to be the case, it is fucking unethical to sell it and you need to shut your business down asap
