Art by me depicting a scene of the Late Triassic of Nova Scotia. A Hypsognathus (parareptile, left) and a Jupijkam (phytosaur, right) are startled by the Manicouagan impact happening far to the north. The scene of the impact parts the clouds and rises far above the tree line like an explosion no human has ever seen in their lifetimes. An explosion so large its scars can still be seen from space today.

Lac Manicouagan in Quebec, Canada is the impact crater of one of the largest impacts of earths history, the sixth-largest to be exact. Known as the eye of Quebec, the Manicouagan reservoir was created near the end of the Triassic period when a 5km (3 mile) wide asteroid smashed into the earths crust

A microraptor leg in 3 stages, from left to right - skeleton, muscles and skin but plucked, fully feathered wing.
Happy #FossilFriday!
I still haven't had a chance to sort through my photos from Lyme Regis Fossil Festival, so instead here's a piece I did recently showing #Microraptor hindwing anatomy, based on the paper Chotard et al., 2025. #paleontology #paleoart #sciart #dinosaur

Prior to the carnage, the three Spinosaurus, Hunter, Striper, and Rune, were pursuing a individual humpback whale, waiting for the big moment to come. And thanks to the help of the spinosaurus, the mosasaurus gets to track down where prey is. What follows is the mosasaur delivering the killing blow and shaking it to pieces. It may seem like stealing for the spinosaurus trio but this was the moment they waited for, as the large mosasaur has done the hard work for them. With their collaboration, both parties get their fair share of a whale feast.
Finally took the time to do Jurassic World fanart, just in time for Rebirth too. This did take a while for me to work on but I did like how this turned out. Expect more Jurassic stuff to come in the near future.

Black-and-white pencil sketch of a fanart scene of the video-game Hollow Knight. The main character, the knight, is standing in the middle of the sketch with their back to the viewer, with their sword-like weapon pointed in front of them. They’re standing on a cobble-stone surface, with shaggy hanging plants above them and many fierce-looking pincers and eyes and legs of various enemy bugs fading out of the empty background.
A little bit of Hollow Knight #fanart, as I’ve been having a ton of fun watching @seismic-shrimp.bsky.social play through it recently. #hollowknight

A chaotic scene of pterosaurs. A Geosternbergia with an Enchodus in its mouth is absolutely pestered by a flock of Nyctosaurus all trying to steal the fish.

Mirebrute troggoths are hulking, scaled humanoids with large tusks and ears. They spend most of their time marinating in the swamp, eating carcasses and thickening their hide. When captured by the greenskinned orruks, they become mounts for the most bully riders. Despite being harnessed and driven forwards, they hold onto their weapons freely, swinging at anything they feel compelled to.
It’s #WarhammerWednesday with a Mirebrute Troggoth! These swamp-dwelling beasts can fully regenerate from horrific injury, recovering from lost limbs and “certain” death. Painfully stupid, they are given massive clubs and ridden into battle by the tribes of swamp orruks.

Black-and-white drawing of a half-underwater scene involving a mother tiger, her two cubs, and a much larger Beluga Sturgeon. The tigress is leading her cubs in swimming across an estuary channel, with tall reeds lining the shores to the left and to the right. The sturgeon is curling its body upwards with its face pointing at the surface, mouth fully extended and in the process of sucking one of the cubs under the surface. A school of small trout are swimming under the sturgeon, while a heron stands along the distant shoreline of reeds and two Garganey Ducks fly overhead. The sky is clear, while the waters are gently shaded (light near the surface, darker near the bottom).
A young female Caspian Tiger has led her cubs on their first swim, across an estuary channel on the edge of the Caspian Sea. Unfortunately, a particularly massive Beluga Sturgeon has crossed their path, and it’s no stranger to hunting surface-swimming prey. #sciart #paleoart #wildlife #caspiansea

The best thing about gearing up for a 2nd edition game of 40k is that the majority of my models are old enough to be from that era already. 90s Nids were ace.

Four black-and-white pencil sketches of prehistoric animals. In the top left is a Magyarosaurus walking (while “helicoptering” its tail) diagonally away from the viewer through an open woodland of low, shrubby trees. In the top right is a front view of a Pycnonemosaurus rolling on its side on the ground with its legs splayed out, and its head is turned towards the left as a frog sits on its snout. In the bottom left is a side-view of Platysomus, drawn in a sort of abstract way with long, overlapping straight lines forming the edges of the fish. In the bottom right is Palaeoctopus with its tentacles curled upwards partially around itself, drawn with messy, rough-sketch lines.
Tonight’s flocking #Paleostream sketches: Magyarosaurus helicoptering its tail, Pycnonemosaurus rolling around with a frog, an abstract Platysomus, and a rough-sketched Palaeoctopus. #sciart #paleoart #cretaceous #paleozoic
