We're surveying the aftermath of last fall’s Glendale Fire to better understand how upland and riparian restoration influence wildfire severity. Our goal? To promote durable and effective restoration strategies for sagebrush ecosystems across the West.

It's all in here! As we continue to increase recreation on public lands, we offer practical guidance for planning to co-exist with the wildlife reliant on these areas. Many thanks to a dedicated team of co-authors for seeing this one through to publication.

I am so happy to share this new paper I co-wrote with colleagues at the USGS. It's a guide to predicting how nonmotorized recreation like hiking, skiing, mountain biking, etc. affects ungulates (hoofed mammals like deer, elk, moose, and pronghorn) to inform NEPA analyses. doi.org/10.3133/sir2...
First paper from my postdoc is out in #EcologicalMonographs w/ @ecologicalsociety.bsky.social! We looked at patterns of summer co-occurrence among 5 predators at 3 time scales to assess how competition, prey, & habitat affected predator distributions in north Idaho, USA. dx.doi.org/10.1002/ecm....

Thrilled to share that our #WAPredatorPreyProject paper evaluating how elk navigate risk from wolves, cougars, and humans is on its way to publication in Ecology. Co-authored with great collaborators from the University of WA, WA dept. of Fish and Wildlife, and the Spokane Tribe.
