Of course law enforcement wears masks. They have long not been accountable to "the people." They are their own super-class of people with special rules. It's a symptom; not a cause.
The masks aren't the cause of their violent behavior. The masks are the result of a system that has uplifted law enforcement despite their open radicalization to the right. Where we are politically with federal police is the result of a failure to take seriously the problem of police power.
