The outrage over the Dublin zoo promo smacks of how mental social media has become, of you really should have more pressing things to be worried about as a TD and better a culture war than confront any of the real issues people face like housing, poverty, cost of livingβ¦
I have never seen the housing crisis so bad. A person with stage 3 cancer about to be evicted into a hostel. This is a rich country!
One year of James Browne seeβs homelessness rise by 10.6% - @conorsheehan.bsky.social
"On Sunday, new rental rules come into effect. We have been warned repeatedly that these changes will lead to higher rents and a return to economic evictions.
labour.ie/news/2026/02...
The new rental rules are so confusing that James Browne canβt even explain his own rental bill properly on Morning Ireland.
I remember multiple families being asked to deliver eulogies during the removal prayers in one local church years ago.
They should obviously be allowed but also time limited.
Minister canβt spin away soaring rent.
βInstead of freezing rents. Ministerβs Rent Hike Bill will cause rents to soar by at least 10%. Todayβs Daft report is desperate, but it will pale into insignificance given what is to come.β @conorsheehan.bsky.social

This will not stop with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Government ducks responsibility as homes hit β¬500,000.
"In a shock to absolutely no one, house prices are climbing once again. Fianna FΓ‘il & Fine Gael must stop ignoring evidence and start delivering the homes people need." @conorsheehan.bsky.social

Proud to back the β¬90β―bn Ukraine support loan last week.
Solidarity with Ukrainian men, women and children has never been more important.
Disappointed, but not surprised, that Sinn FΓ©in turned their back when it mattered most.

Simon Community report confirms HAP collapse.
"Renters will pay the price for the Governmentβs rental changes. Rents need to come down, not rise even higher." @conorsheehan.bsky.social

The removal of the passenger cap must result in additionality for Shannon and the Midwest. We need connectivity to another European hub.
I agree in principle and have an open mind on the ban. My concern is that we will do the ban and little will happen do deal with the actual problem.
Banning u16βs from social media is not the panacea some are making it out to be. Talking about it non-stop is a distraction and letting social media companies off the hook. They are making money off pushing harmful content at young people!
I spoke about the Governmentβs ridiculous proposal to criminalise cyclists who donβt wear helmets πͺ
The fact they even proposed this betrays their complete lack of understanding of what makes our roads unsafe for cyclists & pedestrians ππ @labour.ie @dublincycling.bsky.social
Currently debating Governmentβs RTB Amendment Rent rocket π Bill which is going to cause rents to go up 15-20%. Renters will pay for FF and FGβs policy failures. β

Labour calls for rent brake in Governmentβs rent rule changes. π
"New Government rent changes will push rents higher.
A rent brake is essential." @conorsheehan.bsky.social

This is complete crap!
It will do the opposite of what it intends to do.
If you want to make the roads safer for cyclists, reduce the speed of the thing that could kill them π π€·ββοΈ
Congrats to Helen on her selection. Unfortunately a bad chest infection and strep throat kept me away this evening. Cannot wait to get up to Galway and campaign for Helen #GaillimhOgbu πΉ
I have today written to the Chair of Labourβs National Executive Committee seeking permission to enter the selection process for a candidate for the forthcoming Gorton and Denton by-election.

Labour calls for action on Shannon oversight.
βBlind trust is not oversight. Ireland needs real inspections at Shannon Airport now.β @conorsheehan.bsky.social

In schools in communities I represent in Limerick. A hot school meal means a child gets fed. In most cases the food is decent quality and nothing I wouldnβt eat myself!
Renters face chaos under new Government plan.
"The Minister has created a system so confusing and so fragmented that it will be impossible to enforce." @conorsheehan.bsky.social

Hard to believe that Joe Biden was inaugurated 5 years ago today. βDemocracy is precious, democracy is fragile.β Seems like another worldβ¦.
The fastest cohort of older people entering homelessness is in the West of Ireland. Yet another depressing indictment of our Government. We now have an epidemic of older people entering homelessness.
Great to see the NTA Active Travel Funding allocations for 2026!
Approx β¬18,5m for Limerick which will deliver a lot of key projects over the coming year.
