Alistair Carmichael MP (Orkney/Shetland LD) on LBC re the number of Bailiffs being used by English Water Companies. He didn’t even mention Scottish Water as a publicly owned comparison. Unionists daren’t talk up Scotland, as it exposes their hypocrisy. Labour’s shame is Sarwar’s problem. Vote SNP🏴

Wes Streeting states the SNP are refusing to use the Palintir App in the Scottish NHS for 'Nationalist reasons'
Here are the reasons the UK Government health Minister refers to as 'Nationalist' and it's a revelation of his thinking.

The idea that Polanski and Farage are in any way similar is staggeringly stupid. The Economists masquerades as a magazine giving serious political analysis, nothing more.
I propose a new law:
Anyone who expresses support for an offensive war shall immediately be drafted to fight in it. No exceptions and no exemptions for any reason, including disability or service as a government official in any office. Presidents and congressmen shall fight in any war they start.
Many of us have been there: in the driver’s seat on a tricky hill start, when the engine cuts out and the car judders to a halt. Since the EU-UK summit last May – the event that was supposed to map a new and dynamic way forward – stalling is fast becoming a real risk for Keir Starmer’s most crucial long-term policy area: improving Britain’s relationship with the EU. Today’s report by MPs on parliament’s foreign affairs committee rightly warns that despite the hugely welcome – and essential – progress in relations with our closest allies and neighbours, Starmer’s project is “suffering from a lack of direction, definition and drive”. If Labour is to deliver a growing economy, improve living standards for every UK resident and tackle the very real threat of Reform UK, getting the EU reset back into gear is a matter of urgency.
Naomi Smith in the Guardian. She has diagnosed the problem very well: Starmer's reset is losing blood fast and looks to be in trouble.
However, I don't agree with the prescription.

Joani Reid, MP for East Kilbride and Strathaven, reported to have given up the Labour whip. That means Scottish Labour are now on 36 MPs.

When I see her name, I have to keep checking who and what she is.
She sounds like just another in that long string of Conservative peer-hating, ladder-pulling people of immigrant origin, trying desperately to be more British than anyone else.
Opinion Restoring order at the border speaks to Labour values. Without that, we won't be able to do anything else at all Shabana Mahmood Our approach, unlike that of the Greens and Reform, is in step with the British people. They don't want extremes - they want a system that is managed and fair Shabana Mahmood is the UK home secretary
This is a hot mess of outright lies and misinformation from the Home Secretary, designed to try and persuade people that a government which is implementing some of the most hostile anti-immigration/asylum policies, in practice, for decades is progressive. 1/

Image shows Churchill Square in Brighton on a sunny day. A police live Facial Recognition van is parked and multiple police officers can be seen stood in front of it.
If you are visiting glorious Brighton on this sunny day (as you definitely should), please be aware that at Churchill Square this van is live scanning everyone’s faces and making the city look more like a police state than the gorgeous day out it is!

Huffpost headline: Rachel Reeves Launches Her Strongest Attack On Brexit Amid Gloomy Economic Numbers The chancellor vowed to "break down trade barriers" between the UK and EU. By Kevin Schofield
In the light of recent UKG prnouncements on getting close to Europe, useful to remind ourselves of what the *real* UK redlines are:
a) Maintain "nostalgic" trade deals with Oz & NZ
b) Keep the City of London outside of European law
c) No free movement of people (at least nothing called FoM)

Think about that. Labour prefer Reform to Scottish representatives or a party that supports green initiatives. What exactly does Labour stand for?
When Peter Murrell was arrested the bbc & Sky News immediately set up an encampment at Nicola Sturgeon’s home, and put a helicopter above to provide continuous live TV footage about the “arrest of Nicola Sturgeon’s husband”
When it’s Labour, no names, no TV footage

We are rolling out the £2 bus fare cap across the Highlands and Islands, delivering real savings. Just two examples:
📍 Wick-Inverness, £31 down to £2.
📍 Elgin-Inverness, £15.60 ➡️ £2.
And we are protecting free bus travel for under-22s, over-60s and disabled people.
Spanish PM Sánchez on Trump's threat to end trade:
"We are not going to be accomplices to something that is bad for the world and contrary to our values and interests simply because of fear of reprisals... We have absolute confidence in the economic, institutional & moral strength of our country."
Can we adopt this man?
Dear Labour,
If you only stand up for "working people" and ignore the old, the infirm, those fleeing from tyranny/injustice, you are not the real Labour Party.
Sofar I think we should stick to SNP 1 & 2.
The only thing that may change my mind is if the Greens decide not to stand candidates for the Constituency vote.
Funny that advocates for SNP1 Greens2 never come up with that idea. Greens poll around 9% for the Constituency vote: wasted votes.
This has been on the front page of the BBC Scotland website all morning. It talks about “eight years after the referendum”. The latter was in 2014. A child could do the arithmetic better!
Fine, but Labour have no plans to substantially "break down trade barriers" with the EU. Perhaps because they judge that to be politically impossible but, if so, that needs to be said. Otherwise, we just continue the endless dishonesty which has characterized Brexit.
Labour in Scotland is currently paying for identical videos in each constituency, claiming that "only labour can beat the SNP". Of course this is rubbish. They can't compete on a positive message, so this is what they're left with. Again.
