Hot take: Dad Reflexes are a thing only due to Dad Initial Negligence
"Are you two sisters?" doesn't play as well when the daughter is 3
As a society we have mixed up which group is called bikers and which group is called cyclists.
Wait until you get the one where an AI has generated a hypothesis for you
Now that all the llm companies have successfully stolen literally everything ever written, they're all pivoting hard to "let us surveill you 24/7 here put this camera on your face and wrist c'mon enter the panopticon"
ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.
He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.
He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.
This is political intimidation.
Not to nit pick but I suspect there would be lots of bomb plot related follow-up that might make a note compelling narrative
yeah hassabis has the garbage take necessary to position yourself as a visionary while actually just pushing shareholder agendas

63% of American adults had unfavorable views of Martin Luther King Jr in August 1966, per Gallup surveys
46% of Mississippi GOP voters said interracial marriage should be illegal in a 2011 PPP poll

...what are the questions?
from my experience genAI is (at this point) pretty garbage at generating any insightful comments or content that could be created by anyone medium-expert level in the field, but it can be useful for boiler plate things and editing suggestions (as you said). i'm curious why the resistance
guarantee this is in the disney 5 year plan
experienced this strongly with the first wave of covid as well
i'm not sure how to handle beyond being more or less selective on what news i keep up with as my baseline anxiety fluctuates. how actionable different kinds of news is has been my hand wavy measure for filtering.
Was not expecting the issue to be that people are using genAI to do their critical thinking -- I've not had any experiences with the most recent genAI where it generates anything coherent for tasks beyond intern level difficulty.
wildest trend i've seen on linkedin recently is posts by people who fail interviews telling you the top 10 lessons they learned that you need to know
spending any time on linkedin is just being yelled at by people who want you to think they are uniquely grinding and you can get rich if you do what they say and it's so tiring
very true. we are a ways from being able to do in analog what we do in digital, though. and analog isn't going to be a full replacement of digital by any means
No, stop this
I actually already did this! But before finding a place to create a fake web blog to post it I thought I'd check! π
@anildash.com really enjoyed your article on AI-first mandates! I would like to share with colleagues, but basically need a less sarcastic version to not introduce tension. Do you have any recommendations on similar articles that may be less abrasive to people who have been promoting such mandates?
I keep reminding myself Bernie could reach them
that is horrifying
ah, sorry just saw this bsky.app/profile/madc...
