Unbeknown to me until someone told me today.
I won the overall in last weekendβs in-house comp.
Quite chuffed about that. π

πΎ 30 years off the court. Iβve started this page to track my return to tennis β from choosing rackets, swapping to contact lenses, fitness, sore legs and rediscovering the joy of play. Profile pic varies. Come along. Letβs see where this goes.

My playing partner this morning.

One of supplements
BCAA - they have always worked for me.
Tonightβs comp. Reduced numbers and sets due to country week.
6-4. 6-4.
Up.
Body maintenance-
Played 3 light warm up sets in the middle part of today - low key. Fun.
Playing comp tonight though. Thatβll be three sets of matchplay at a much higher level.
Wearing my knee braces now for the sole reason of keeping my knees warm between the two sessions.
Naomi Osaka withdraws from the Australian Open.
The other thing with the Aussie crowd. Stan got the wildcard eventually - and people were pushing Stan to get it instead of Kyrgios
We all love Stan. Donβt know about Taylor, but Stan has a niggle. We love Stan here in Melbourne
The dance was not necessary and poor form. Take your win with pride and dignity rather than making some scene.
Bartunkova will become a mainstay top player in my view.
She plays differently, and thatβs super welcome.
Fair point. But Sinner played by the rules.
Even when Sinner was βoffβ he still won.
Testing individuals? Thereβs a lot in there to unpack.
Well done Dave.
Shelton is totally in form
Was difficult to see how the world number two was suffering from cramping.
But his talent and brains to eventually win it. Great
Was difficult to watch
Stan the Man
Wawrinka wins the 2nd set 6-2 against Taylor Fritz at the Australian Open.
What a set of tennis from Stan.
Hitting some incredible winners and looking determined to get another huge win.

The new Nike gear is awful. #justsaying
6:15am every day except Sunday.
Nice digs
She looks like a future Number One.
β’ The Focus:
The culture of the "inner game" turns the court into a mental sanctuary where the only thing that matters is the next ball.
High intensity, higher standards.
Thatβs the beauty of the game.
β’ The Accountability:
You call your own lines and manage your own momentum. It builds a rare kind of honesty and self-reliance.
β’ The Longevity:
Itβs a "lifetime sport" that keeps the mind sharp and the body moving, regardless of age or chapter.
Why Tennis Culture Wins πΎ
Tennis is more than just a sport; itβs a masterclass in character.
β’ The Etiquette:
Where else do you battle someone for two hours and end with a handshake and genuine respect?
Enjoying the tennis here in Australia
Some good lead up tournaments to the Aus Open.
Today was the last competitive hit of tennis for this year.
Itβs four months since I returned to playing tennis after 30 years away from the game.
Iβm happy being where I am at the moment.
Small little win today.
Section of 8 players in a round robin of doubles and I came out on top.
Not that this a great victory but rather a sign of my tennis getting better.
