Wow, you watched that fast!
Got it. I'm a retired silicon engineer. Here's my take. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUvV...
And there's the rub. That will have to change.
Cool, but when it asks you to take the same consciousness test as it takes ... be ready.
We better have a plan for when one of the things, during regressions at initial boot-up, says "I'm conscious. Prove me wrong."
My understanding is that some human sociopaths can exhibit a complete lack of empathy (maybe through an internal switch, not that they don't have the capability). So "feeling" empathy is separate from recognizing empathetic situations. Seems to me both a sociopath and an AI can do that...
A non-philosopher asking here ... how is atheism defined these days? Discrete gods, or does it extend to a conscious universe?
"Consequential" has no positive implication.
For ppl who aren't aware:
Old temperate forests are insanely rare nowadays and extremely important ecosystems lost forever once cut.
They're not just "old trees" but intricate networks of trees, fungi and all kinds of living creatures.
You CANNOT replant this!! Once it's gone it's lost FOREVER!!!
I see hints here of AI's problem of deciding between choices that are on different value scales.
If we're trying to change hearts and minds in Iran, this is the wrong approach. Who targeted this school?
At least it (they?) identifies itself as a synthetic entity. How long before they assume they're just one of the gang and don't mention it?

Former ICE agent:
On my first day training new cadets, I received secretive orders to teach them to violate the Constitution by entering homes without a judicial warrant.
We bought our first VCR just to record this game.
Rather than cut costs, I would add value to the NPCs with AI. I'm not a gamer, but that seems to me the obvious way to go.
I recently re-watched the 50's Wyler movie "Friendly Persuasion" with my grandsons. Has a lot to say about this subject...
Makes me want to start practicing on my piano again....
As is boomer geezer. Double sigh.
Being able to raise the temperature (injecting error) ... nice.
Wow.
I barely made it.
So ... he's saying that every married American woman in America who took her husband's name will have to, at a minimum, sign a piece of paper saying she's "legal"? Good luck with that.
Took me a couple minutes to find...
No disagreement here. I needed analog as well in FPGA chips. Just saying the opposite is true as well ... the brain works nothing like digital computers of any kind, let alone AI algorithms.
Speaking as a 50-year chip designer who worked in both worlds, digital silicon is cheaper. That's the bottom line. The brain has evolved an incredibly efficient analog approach. I honestly don't know how I would implement a pure digital system using neurons with no clock. @earlkmiller.bsky.social
It's an interesting exercise (use your favorite LLM) to go through the various possibilities for '28 in this regard.
Serious question -- do sociopaths also "simulate" those things?
If we can get all of America just to shift a bit, that will be revolutionary. We don't need Rand Paul to go full AOC.
I donβt really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.
Iβll call it βlessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.β
