Labour urged to listen to progressive voters or face ‘political earthquake’ in London
Exclusive: Senior party figures share data suggesting Green surge could put Labour in fourth place in capital in May
Looking good for Greens in London, incl Lewisham my old patch.
Says Greens might struggle to find enough candidates - I dont think so..Not my experience in my local party. Affording to campaign may be an issue so pleeeese donate to local crowdfunders!

The Ground Game is Back
In an era of fractured politics and collapsing trust, grassroots organising offers the left a path to victory.
The Greens are offering a different kind of politics – one that offers a sense of solidarity, camaraderie, and agency in an age of individualism.
Contests like this don’t just give us hope. They make us feel we’re part of something bigger than ourselves.

Just 🤔 about how many seats across UK Greens would target for 29 GE if Hannah got Gorton and Denton. London here we come, Manchester here we come, Bristol... what other cities?

Conveniently forget the more widely understood meaning of colonialism in our nations History. Also it was a by product of this colonialism that we could easily tap into migrant labour when it suited us, continuing to other and exploit these newcomers.

Union chief calls for Angela Rayner to replace Keir Starmer or risk Labour defeat to Reform UK
Exclusive: TSSA general secretary wants Rayner to take charge after Gorton byelection which she expects party to lose
www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Like the bit that says women mps calling for woman deputy doesn't go far enough - Labour needs a woman PM!
( PS I am Green so on one hand shouldn't care. But my sense of where the left still is in 2026 runs deep...)

IMO this article downplays his unpopularity cos of disappointment. Can't underestimate how people wanted radical change re affordability of housing and better living standards. People didn't vote for Tory lite.

It probably won't happen, but not beyond possibility that Mandelson could join Reform? In many ways a good fit 👌

We like to think that politics is complex but in fact it is usually run by a megalomaniac, a few cronies, couple of interconnected business barons and a weak prime minister 🤔

Peter Mandelson will haunt Labour
The mere mention of his name will be a gift to Starmer’s opponents
www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-...
This expresses so well the increduluty that so many have felt over the years.
And in Times interview with Katy Ball Mandelson is again talking about returning to public life in some capacity. A narcissist & megalomaniac.

Starmer is hiding under admonishing Mandelson and not taking responsobility for appointing him US ambassador.
Ordinary members of public have mistrusted M for many years but as usual establishment politicians thought they knew better. Trust in politicians at very low ebb.

Amazing Starmer not asked to resign over appointment of Mandelson when he probably knew about Epstein association. Government ministers have resigned for less

Their candidate might be great altho probably a Starmer loyalist. But agree that the fact that they haven't parachuted in a big name probably suggests they don't think they can win. Be interesting to see who in government visits the constituency. GP has more of a culture of promoting locals.
