One of the unexpected things I've learned from my advocacy for trans people is how malignant parts of the State can be, how it can misuse data for positively evil purposes. It's taught me people can't be safe with a digital ID card and so I've signed this. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...
Only 1 person in the whole study went from identifying as trans to not identifying as trans. The 1/5 number came from youth going between the binary and non-binary spectrum.
This headline and post are misleading on purpose to fit the economist's editorial bent on the political issue.
For ppl that are genuinely empathetic or sensitive to othersβ energies please take some time for yourself that *doesnβt* involve browsing social media. Especially engagement sites like this one. Nothing is normal and doom scrolling is a very real and unhealthy thing.
Find or make other outlets.
Israel has commenced its ground incursion into Gaza. History will remember everyone who helped enable this genocide.
"political violence is never acceptable," is a phrase you don't hear politicians say after cops beat the shit out of peaceful demonstrators
any thoughts for Palestinians? or Trans People? or any other victims of school shootings? or is your sympathy purely performative.
Adjusted for inflation Spirited Away cost $22 million to make. The Triplets of Belleville cost $16.5 million, Cartoon Saloon's Wolfwalkers cost $14.28 million, and Oscar winner Flow cost only $4 million. These critically acclaimed, made by real people films, cost less than this pile of actual vomit.

I think capitalism is a problem for indie games but yk
I think, in light of all the rotten people out there spreading terf nonsense, today would be a good day to support trans creators.
Trans folk, please add your links to this thread for books or crafts or whatever you do!

I love the smell of consequences in the morning. Thank you, @dragoncon.org
love this !!!
The sea of water dawned veiled by a sea of clouds on the morning the Cartographer left the city that saw her grew up. So did the other masses of land floating nearby, silhouetted and unfamiliarized by the thick vespertine fogs. She had wished to have her mother and her one friend watch her depart but only the first did, and only when she had already weighted the anchor. She lifted up her wings and flew to the Cartographer's side and put her hand on the hull of the ship and said nothing, and in that moment and in those eyes that only half-looked at her she knew that the island she left behind was no home for her and that it was her ship where she truly wanted to be.

I love the way art creates more art by existing. It's like a microdosed religious experience. You get moved to creation.
If I see an amazing painting, I have to paint. If I read a great comic, I have to make comics. Good art awakens something inside of you that you have to let out.
Labor policy adviser says to lower expectations on climate targets Ryan Cropp Ryan Cropp Energy and climate reporter Aug 27, 2025 β 4.32pm Save Share Gift this article A key Labor climate adviser has warned the government against setting its 2035 emissions target too high, arguing that any goal north of 60 per cent will require a major expansion of emissions reductions in the transport, industrial and agricultural sectors. Frank Jotzo, the author of a forthcoming Labor-commissioned report into a potential carbon border tax, said excessively ambitious policies being proposed by some climate groups would be impractical and easily undermined by opponents of change.

I love how natural the shoreline looks for following the grain of the wood. Really nice and smooth!
A photo of a, work in progress, practice, and simplistic fantasy style map drawn/painted using watercolor pencils on 4 inch by 6 inch basswood. The woodgrain is evident and a feature of the piece. The map features a central ocean/sea cutting diagonally across the image from the lower left to the upper right with the landmasses bordering it on either side, with the left/topmost occupying around 50% of the area. The ocean/sea contains three islands, one of which has two mountains indicated. The largest mountain also sports a cavern indicator. (black, rounded, doorway-like symbol.) The main landmasses sport mountain ranges and forests running roughly parallel to the ocean/sea, with the bulk of the upper left being grassy and hilly plains. Amid the mountains and forests are various lakes and rivers. The righthand side sports a minimalistic black compass rose comprised of the letter N at the top, and a half-barb arrow pointing upwards indicating that's North on the map. The arrow in set on a circle with a crossbar implying east and west are right and left, respectively.
Here's the mini-practice-map, on basswood, I've been putzing with in the evenings. The largest mountain on the largest island had some hideous errors that I corrected last night. I was considering not sharing it if I couldn't correct those.
I still have some shadows and highlights to add.
