Don't suppose I know anyone with Matlab experience that fancies a little hobby job helping me sort out a legacy GUI based code that no longer renders figures correctly? Seems highly unlikely but after a couple of frustrating days I am getting a bit desperate. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

How can higher education better deliver on social mobility? Higher education can be a powerful driver of social mobility, but data shows that significant barriers still remain for people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access and benefit from it.

The evidence is clear, university can transform the life chances of somebody from a disadvantaged background.

But there's still work to be done to ensure disadvantaged young people are better able to access and succeed in higher education.

New paper arguing for more attention to *construct* use in pedagogical research, to improve conceptual clarity. Do we say we're measuring "imposter phenomenon" in students when we really mean "belonging"? Do we spend enough time thinking about the distinction? www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

For limited-overs cricket, when the team batting second wins, anyone else think it would be better to describe a win by the number of balls left instead of wickets in hand? :) #cricket

Exclusive: U.S. CDC plans study into vaccines and autism, sources say The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is planning a large study into potential connections between vaccines and autism, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters, despite extensive scientific research that has disproven or failed to find evidence of such links.

Terrible news.

There is no evidence whatsoever linking any vaccine, including the MMR, to autism.

British anti-vaxx charlatan Andrew Wakefield was responsible for spreading that lie in the 1990s.

He was struck off for his fraudulent research.

RFK is dangerous.

What relevance does the replication crisis have for non-academic research, such as the methods used to evaluate social programs?

In a new paper with Ben McNamee and Michael Lenczner, we argue that the answer could be quite a lot
