Today, several Denver schools are closed due to record head. Meanwhile, earlier this week, our mayor fired nearly 30% of the office working on climate sustainability and resiliency. Make it make sense.

Staying up late making my own packs of crayons and colored pencils for my kids school supplies bc I refuse to buy new when we have hundreds in our house already!
Earth day every day.
I find it so weird that nomadic families traveling around in RVs (and posting it on social media) donβt have their kids on seatbelts or car seats. Canβt they still get hurt in a crash!?
Timed up our light rail from the DEN airport so we could take the bus home from the station. The RTD bus driver inexplicably decided to roll out 5 min early (another driver on another bus relayed this info) so we missed the bus. Next one wasnβt for an hour. Paid $25 for an Uber to go 3mi. So lame.
Way too many cars in the superbowlβ¦
Just got in an eye-shouting match with a driver at my kidsβ school who wanted me to move (on my bike) at an intersection so she could park illegally. I just kept waving her to go forward but she wanted to back up into me. It wasnβt a parking spot! It said βNo Parking.β Parents at pickup are crazy.
Oranges as a Lunar New Year gift. Cones from teaching a full barre class at the rec center. Itβs a good day! Whatβs good in your world today?
The snow is melting fast in Denverβ¦Hoping to be back on the bike for school commutes tomorrow! π€πΌ How snowy is it on the streets where you live?
π·: a night out in RiNo, a few weeks ago.
Iβm so grateful to live near nature. Thereβs a large park and golf course within walking distance of my house. I sometimes take it for granted. My health would be much worse without this green (white!?) space. Cities need to prioritize these spaces for the public health of their citizens.

"If they pounced to the north-east, they killed on 73% of their attacks; if they jumped in the opposite direction,,,, 60%. In all other directions, only 18% of their pounces were successful".

Yes itβs 23Β° for DPS. I grew up in upstate NY so I donβt quite get the βitβs so coldβ at 20Β° vibe we have in Denver π. Fun you have Denver connections!
Curious- is school cancelled or delayed in that kind of weather? It was 10Β° in Denver this morning and so they delayed school 2 hoursβ¦ it felt unnecessary to me but I know itβs a complex issue and people are used to different temps/climates.
I didnβt know that Sharpies are Trumpβs βsignatureβ writing implement for enacting all his crap policies. I like them less now.
We need more global Cargo Bike People!
At cargobikelife.com we have many forum threads for various topics. One of which is a regional forum for area-specific topics. Currently, we need more people and information to come into the South Pacific, South America, Central America, and Mexico regions.
Tonight I made scallion pancakes and joined ε°ηΊ’δΉ¦ β¦ I guess Iβm getting in touch with my younger sinophile self? Fun fact: I studied abroad in Harbin, China.
Did yβall know thereβs a transit stop emoji? Makes my Monday! π
Comic featuring four bike riders in green jackets and helmets and a woman in a coat and scarf saying, "No one told me about the dress code."

Streets in Denver are still too snowy/icy for my kids to ride bikes. Drove 4 kids to school todayβ¦wish we had more options but carpooling is a decent way to reduce the number of cars on our roads.
Spare me your "cyclists are dangerous" comments. In my years of parenting as my kids leave the house to play, go to school, go out with friends or do anything outside, Iβve never once had to say Watch out for people on bicycles.
Screenshot from Wooden Ship Brewingβs Instagram showing a snowy outdoors and cozy tap room. Caption: It's the moment (most of) you have been waiting for! SNOW! # And with all this snow you get $5 pints of beer. All. Night. Long. And if you arrive by anything other than a car you get one free 4oz beer of your choice! That means sled, skis, walking, biking, snowmobiling, pogo sticks, toboggan, somehow a gondola, you get the idea.
Minneapolis: go visit Wooden Ship Brewing tonight for $5 pints of beer.
If you arrive via any mode except car, you get a free little 4oz beer!π» βοΈ
Unfortunately B-Cycle was discontinued in 2020. There are tons of Lime e-bikes available around the city though. Not the same but still a great way to get around!
Was tempted to buy this cute bike decorβ¦but the last think I need is more stuff to manage. So basically I gave myself a gift by not buying it.
Question for friends who are sharing their βYear in Strava:β do you have a watch that tracks activity or do manually start tracking using the phone app each time you exercise? I track many of my longer rides but often forget short rides.
My daughter goes to a charter school and I swears sheβs making friends with kids who live the farthest away from us just to spite me, her mom who hates driving. π€£
Theyβre not distributing in the US at allβ¦yet? Saw one a few years ago in Montreal π
Ohhh you have a Black Iron Horse!? Amazing. Theyβre so beautiful. I love most trikes though!
I love the show βShrinking,β but it just seems so illogical that Jimmy would drive an old Ford Bronco with no seatbelts and open sides after his wife was killed in a car crash! Donβt the writers need to at least have him address this choice!?
Awesome seeing new bike amenities around Denverβ¦but electronic locks make me a bit anxious. What happens if the app malfunctions and your bike is stuck? Who do you call? (I am old, apparently.)
When the kids are on vacation from school I feel very torn between going places with them (driving or navigating the city with 3 kids on bikes) and just staying home (everyone going bonkers and not getting enough movement/stimulation). Balance is hard to find.
