The workflow in VSCode is really nice and fast. I use Pluto for distributing code to students, but VSCode is my work flow of choice.
I was just on twitter for a minute. Saw some terrible hate speech against a foreign researcher, reported it, and "noped" right back to BlueSky.
I love that the anti-vaxxers are pissed about Tylenol being called out for autism. "No!! That crazy unproven theory shouldn't be getting attention! Only our crazy thoroughly debunked theory should be getting attention!"π€ͺ
Actually, with more reflection, the papers that misrepresent your finding make a bigger impression. So I can believe 17%, but it FEELS like 25% or more.
I think it's much higher than this.

Her PhD thesis basically established the Harvard astro department β at a time when Harvard didn't officially allow woman students.
I wrote this little profile to mark the 100th anniversary of her thesis:

even if today is #talklikeapirate day - you should try to avoid type piracy in #julialang - otherwise you'll have to wear this (or walk the plank)...
More than a decade ago, I started making tutorial videos on how to use Adobe illustrator, targeted at scientists that needed to make figures and cartoons for talks or papers.

An apartment complex. A headline reads: "Did Switzerland Solve The Housing Crisis?"
The way that housing co-ops work in Switzerland may seem foreign to many. But the central idea is simple: What if homeownership had no profit motive and no capital gains? Advocates say their model could reshape how the world thinks about affordable housing. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/r...
