Spanish PM Sánchez responds to Trump:
"Spain is against this disaster... Govts are here to improve people's lives... It is absolutely unacceptable that those leaders who are unable to fulfill that mission use the smoke of war to hide their failure, and in the process, fill the pockets of a few."

Remember that I predicted a long time ago that President Obama will attack Iran because of his inability to negotiate properly-not skilled!

Personal experience: LLMs helped me with learning CS and math. This works especially well when trying to understand core concepts, where the training set of an LLM is huge. They are basically big knowledge processing & regurgitation machines. Faulty? yes, therefore not to be relied on exclusively

... they are very useful for coding and learning STEM subjects (they can help foster understanding of basic concepts).
Despite their many drawbacks, I believe transformer-applications (LLMs, agentic-AI) will be a net-positive on the long run.

Even that that term is too generic (no pun intended). This would also include things like Variational Autencoders which are used for data compression and biological representation learning.
But even if were just talking about transformer-architecture based LLMs: I disagree with you on this one...

Now you're taking it too far (or maybe that's just ragebait?).
It's like saying that you cannot be friends with people who get excited about web science because social media is ruining democracy.
It's also frustrating how people use the very broad umbrella term 'AI' as a stand-in for LLMs.

German far right setting agenda as opponents amplify its ideas, study finds
Normalisation of far-right stances likely to affect success of such parties at ballot boxes across Europe, say researchers
"German mainstream parties are allowing the far right to set the agenda. They unwittingly helped the far right by legitimising their ideas & disseminating them more widely."

Why I left academia and neuroscience
Don't worry, this isn't yet another story of rage-quitting.
Why I left academia and neuroscience.
This post on Substack has gained a lot of traction. I think many people identify with it.
(Most of my posts are technical tutorials on machine-learning and LLM-mechanisms.)

"The West doesn't understand the extremism of Putinism. They keep imagining that there's a deal to be done, that if we just give Crimea to Russia, then he'll stop fighting.⤵️

You know I think it’s best not to rise to Friedrich Merz’s dumb outrage bait. Why don’t we all stipulate to facts we all recognize — that Germany’s chancellor hates LGBT people — and move on?

Breaking the barrier between theorists and experimentalists
Many neuroscience students are steeped in an experiment-first style of thinking. Let’s not forget how theory can guide experiments.
Sam Gershman writes beautifully about how theory-free neuroscience prevents the field from reaching its promise. Beautiful and true. Most folks do not test hypotheses. Running a NHST does not a hypothesis make. www.thetransmitter.org/theoretical-...
