I just watched the final episode of The Orville. We already had the explosive finale so this is a character piece. And fittingly it moves from the sublime to the ridiculous (and back to sublime) in a flash. I’ve enjoyed every minute of this show and I’m proud to join its wonderful community of fans.

Almost at the of The Orville. I haven’t posted much about S3 but that’s only because I’ve been too wrapped up in its incredible stories to pause for comments and pics. Saying that, the penultimate episode “Domino” has just left me speechless.
And emotional 😢
The Orville season 3 pulls in a few changes as the ship receives a sleek war-ready upgrade, the show gets a new title sequence … and actually a new title!
I think I miss the lower budget vibe of the previous seasons though.
Very much looking forward to seeing Mando and Grogu on the big screen!!

The Orville, season 2 “Sanctuary” which not only tackles the weighty issues of gender oppression and genocide but also treats us to a visual riff on Star Trek Wrath of Kahn and a gunfight to the sounds of Dolly Parton! Love it!

I just watched that episode. Rebellion to the sound of Dolly Parton - it’s so good!
Aw man… The Orville serves up one of the most heart-wrenching and credible high-concept sci-fi romances of the genre. So much to love here, esp Scott Grimes who portrays amazing depth of character without once dropping Gordon’s tendency to fool around and deliver stinging one-liners. Brilliant!
Things you’ll (probably) never see on Star Trek. Have to say, I was laughing so much at this I cried 😂

The Orville season 2 two-parter ‘Identity’ is exceptional. I wasn’t too surprised that Isaac’s mission was a little more sinister than we’d been led to believe, but the way it played out was unexpected and tense.
Also - some amazing visuals and one of the most EPIC space battles in all tv sci-fi!
The Orville season 2 story ‘Home’ has some of the most GORGEOUS visuals in the whole of TV sci-fi.
(Actually so did the previous story but I didn’t take pics of that)

Although… I just watched the episode ‘Majority Vote’ which seems even more relevant in current times.
It’s genuinely brilliant - I’m SO impressed by what I’ve seen so far. I love the comedy but actually the strength of the stories is exceptional. So far there’s been a bunch which have presented difficult, unresolved moral/ ethical issues and have turned quite dark. Looking forward to more of this 👍

A fond homage to 80s/ 90s Star Trek but with a lot more lols. Why has it taken me so long to get around to watching ‘The Orville’? I’m 6 eps in and loving every minute of it so far!
