if the US doesn't want its military assets attacked maybe they should stop starting wars & fuck off back to their own borders

Anyone else remember when Israel blew up the Evin Prison in August, killing over 100 transgender prisoners in the largest single-day slaughter of trans people in human history
a lot of what has made discourse insane is that there's an entire crop of guys who live in dc, do a ton of uppers, and have massive gender insecurity around the fact that they're soft-handed scribes
Telling Jesus he'll never make it if he keeps being so hostile to wealth. Advising him to moderate his message to appeal to the Galilee suburbs
american evangelicals already run everything and what we are seeing right now, including this headline, is them trying to close the gap on the 5% of everything they don't run
In every Republican presidency of my lifetime there's been a recession and a new war in the Middle East.
the US has already lost in iran, their only hope was iran collapsing in a day or two, and it didn't, so now their only options are to declare victory & slink away or try to put boots on the ground & lose way harder
Funny story, this is actually kind of how we ended up with Chanukah.
Antiochus IV got his ass whipped by Egypt and wanted to make an example of a small client state to prove he was still tough.
But it turned out his overstretched, bedraggled military was no longer up to the task, and said state ended up gaining its independence from his empire.
Probably shouldn't use airports to refuel military aerial tanker jets.
Look, when the day comes, it's going to be very hard to get some people to get off the "norms/turn the page" bandwagon, but the least, and already established, thing we can do is prosecute the fuck out of everyone for perjury. All these people have lied under oath. Start there, at the lowest bar.
We've gone from "The US needs to arm Ukraine" to "Ukraine needs to arm the US." www.newsweek.com/trump-drones...
Kelly Wilkinson was being abused by her husband.
She tried to go to the police.
They told her to “cool off”.
They suggested she give her husband a “break”.
They accused her of cop shopping.
Her husband stabbed her over 20 times and set her on fire.

listening to his reports from prison in high school was one of the first things that put me on the road to left politics
Left can't resist being on wrong side of a war Whether it's Jeremy Corbyn or Zack Polanski, their foreign policy stances terrify voters outside core supporters
Well, here’s the thing about being antiwar as an ethical belief: it means you end up opposing most wars. Almost all of them, in fact. This is quite common in people who have consistent beliefs but looks insane to people who have none, or mostly just believe superior people should make the decisions.
Israeli map showing all of southern Lebanon in red with yellow arrows pointing to north of the Litani river
The IDF just ordered the *entirety of south Lebanon* to be forcibly displaced.
They are emptying the land of its population, creating a massive crisis, and will now proceed to further annihilate large parts of Lebanon.
The very nation state of Lebanon is being destroyed.
From X (sorry): @DropSiteNews • 6h ••• Peter Beinart: If the United States and Israel had not launched an attack on a country that poses no serious threat to them, those 180 school girls would be alive today. Matt Schlapp (interjecting): "They'd be alive in a burka... This is a barbaric society."

FT comments section this morning - saying what everyone else is thinking, right?
Every day I see multiple messages to “boycott this company because they’re Nazis“ and at some point it will be worth reckoning with the fact that the entirety of the capitalist class are Nazis
‘Ancient hatreds’ and it’s Mark Sykes and Francois Georges-Picot carving up the Middle East with a ruler in 1916
Probably not going to get the traction it deserves but it’s insane 1. Stephen Miller is giving dod press conferences and 2. explicitly saying the us policy towards the irgc will be war crimes
never, ever, ever, ever accept "how will you pay for it?" as an argument against social programs.
They are torturing and killing people in our concentration camps, and I wish more people were actively bothered by that
hamas didn't kill "more than a thousand Israeli civilians"!!! several hundred were active-duty idf soldiers killed at military bases, and many of the <1000 civilians who died were killed by israeli tanks & missiles

A woman with Long Covid won almost one million dollars in a lawsuit against her employer who refused to allow her work from home accommodations.
May this set a precedent.
Remote work should be accessible to all who need it.
It’s a game changer for people with disabilities.
"'reform ICE' is a terrible slogan that is too extreme to attract voters"
