I'm done. You're clearly unwilling to actually understand this condition.

What part of that is a threat?

23.02.2026 17:39 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

No, because people around here actually understand John's condition and its implications for the most part. That's why my mum laughed when he said he'd r*ped me instead of calling the police. We're not all as heartless as you.

He didn't threaten to rape me!!! Jfc. Once again, a perfect display of ignorance.

"beat bad habits out of people with disabilities" god you're charming

23.02.2026 17:36 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

This is so condescending. He's been battling this for decades, you think he hasn't tried? You really do epitomise the stereotypical terminally online American.

23.02.2026 17:35 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I've heard him scream "CUNT" in a supermarket then whimper and almost cry before. Please, don't insist that he has the ability to stop this based on a skim of a Wikipedia article.

23.02.2026 17:34 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Coprolalia tics like John's cannot be controlled or suppressed to the same extent, and it's not like he has time to run out of a packed theatre audience in time to stop it. I'd really encourage you to watch the film and learn more about him.

?

23.02.2026 17:26 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Genuinely what alternative do you suggest except excluding people from events? A film *about his life and condition* was being celebrated at the BAFTAs, and he's not allowed to be in the audience? Fuck that.

23.02.2026 17:17 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

And he doesn't want to say it!!

23.02.2026 17:16 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, and I'm sure excluding every single person with Tourette's from all social functions would stress them out too. Racism and exclusion and ablism are all issues.

23.02.2026 17:10 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

He can't "tell when he's about to have a problem". THEY'RE TICS. Please, for the love of God, I know the US education system is cooked but do some reading and understand what he's going through.

23.02.2026 17:10 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, because that's the appropriate usage? He's not the only person with Tourette's. This has happened before. Growing up, he couldn't even eat dinner with his own family. I don't know why you're putting him down so much. You have no moral ground to stand on.

23.02.2026 17:09 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

What I'm saying is that people with an uncontrollable condition shouldn't be excluded from all aspects of society, which is what you're calling for. There are people with Tourette's besides him. The fact you're putting tics in quotes shows you don't even think it's a real thing. This is heartless.

23.02.2026 17:01 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

What's the alternative? We glue his mouth shut and keep him away from society? Yeah, lovely, such a compassionate and caring world view. He's not even saying racist shit, he's ticking it. This isn't the pain olympics. Black people experience racism and Tourette's experience exclusion. Neither is ok

23.02.2026 16:53 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

He's had ticks about r*ping me when I was underage. But guess what. He didn't. Please, learn about this condition, this is such close minded rhetoric. Go after actual racists.

23.02.2026 16:47 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 1

How's he being a racist asshole? He had no control over what he said. He's spent his whole life having to apologise for his disability, inclusion is important. What do you even know about Johnny Davidson? I grew up in the same area as him, my mum worked in the same office as him

23.02.2026 16:46 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

and people try to exclude you from that awards show, like has happened your entire life, because of that condition? Completely heartless take. Ignorance would be a generous interpretation, this is just calloused and cruel.

1/ Can you imagine having an uncontrollable condition for your entire life, being unable to control what you say, getting arrested as a teenager for impulsively screaming "I've got crack" to police, a film gets made about your life story and the work you do to raise awareness of the condition,

The weirdest thing is, Oracle donates to the maintenance of similar CoW filesystems like btrfs. I don't understand why they don't just relicense ZFS to GPL-2 at this point (or another license compatible with the kernel, unsure of the technicalities πŸ˜›)

Ahh that's fair, the storage pool on my homelab is ZFS and I always feel like I'm about to break something, but so far Proxmox has kept me in safe hands πŸ™Œ

Arch derivatives are definitely fun, but I can see how they become tedious if you actually have a life πŸ˜†

`flatpak install liamm`

I'm kinda in two minds. On my laptop I've been trying out an immutable Fedora derivative, and on my desktop I just run Endeavour. I like flatpaks and the advantages of containerisation, and immutable distros in general, but I guess I've not been burned badly enough by Arch to not want CachyOS.

I quite like it overall personally. I'd say it probably has a lower learning curve than Ubuntu/Debian at least in terms of package management, and I like its release update system - good compromise between new packages and the benefits of point releases for desktop imo. I'm always tempted to switch.
