Normally, I’d agree with you, but I’ve also seen the US (not) deal with gun violence…

That sounds like a whole lot of economic bullshit. That “effect” is nonsense and relies on correlation. Childcare isn’t more expensive because otherwise no one would go into childcare. It’s more expensive because the cost of living has gone up and childcare workers also need to survive.

At least in Canada, I think that posting misinformation to social media with your credentials attached (as opposed to just a personal account where you aren’t presenting yourself as an expert) has caused issues, but I could be wrong.

Even if the fatigue was brought on by something else (like a concussion), addressing your ferritin may still help!

The height on my driver’s license isn’t even accurate! I lost a cm when I switched from an American license to a Canadian one because the US doesn’t do half inches. 😂

(Apologies if I’ve already shared this with you. I want to make sure that as many Americans hear it as possible in case it can help someone.)

Fun fact: In (at least some provinces in) Canada, EpiPens are available OTC.

At my local pharmacy, they’re $129.99 CAD (so under $100 USD).

My grandmother developed encephalitis as a complication of measles at age 2 (1926) and had her hearing and memory impacted for the rest of her life.

A benefit of radiators over central heating is the ability to control temperatures in individual rooms. I don’t want my bedroom too warm, but I. You can also get programmable thermostats and set them to change the temperatures of rooms throughout the day.

Central heating isn’t really a good thing. It’s convenient, but terribly inefficient to be heating parts of a house that aren’t even being used.

A pokeball pillow (unstuffed) in the pastel colours of the trans pride flag. There are 5 evenly sized stripes on top: blue, pink, white, pink, blue. The middle band is black, the button in the center is white, and the bottom half of the pokeball is also white.

(I’m sorry for all of the words, and for assuming that you were American. I hope you accept this photo of a trans pride pokeball pillow that I made for my friend as an apology.)

(I’m sorry if I came across as cold or uncaring. I have to dissociate from it because my heart hurts too much if I don’t.)

Your country has done this before, people have pushed back on the streets and in the courts, and laws have changed and rights have been enshrined.

I guess what I’m saying is that harm that they’re doing now is unconscionable, but not insurmountable.

As far as I can tell, the UK does have anti-discrimination protections for gender identity already in-place, which is better than some places (*glaring at the US*). The pattern of fear of marginalized group, societal/government bullshit, pushback, and then change.

Please accept my apologies as a very embarrassed Canadian. 😅

Honestly, that gives me hope. I know that it won’t be easy and I’m so sorry that you have to go through this, but your government is still functioning. Your politicians can still be embarrassed and forced out of office.

(I could offer empathy and condolences, but I thought some hope might be more helpful. Since trans people were not considered in existing legislation this could be a chance to get the courts to rule that they do qualify under federal anti-discrimination protections.)

The PE ban is interesting. Illinois state law requires PE every day for K-12, so I’m wondering what legal challenges there will be to this. I’m also interested to see how this will be treated in court under existing federal anti-discrimination legislation.
