Et où sont les appels d’offre ?

congratulations on this very nice step forward Vera. Looking forward to see the interesting science coming from your lab!

Time to rise and SHINE through multimode fibers! ✨
Thrilled to have contributed (albeit modesly) to this really nice work by Puxiang Lai and team.

Yes, but how to measure without collapsing ?
are superposition state allowed? I'm usually 1/sqrt(5) ( 1>+2>+3>+4>+5>)
Totalement d’accord avec ça… je suis paradoxalement parfois plus efficace pour faire de la science dans les moments de bourre dans les interstices, que pendant les périodes de relatif creux, où on a juste envie de souffler un peu.
Can relate. En même temps c’est naturel/humain, pareil, je culpabilise plus de rien faire de très productif après 3h de cours ! La c’est pareil mais sur une echelle de temps plus longue… le cerveau est juste pas cablé comme ça, en tout cas pas le mien….
The manga exhibition at Guimet museum 👘💯
I'm not yet completely convinced of the advantage of AI for science, but I'm convinced it is absolutely great to expedite any bureaucratic request sent my way without flinching...
ridiculously nice panoramic ride through the alps on my way back from Innsbruck.
my moving office 🚂 >> your static office 🖥️
On my way to Innsbruck by train through Zurich - since there is no direct flight, train is (i) cheaper (~150€) (ii) faster (8.5h) and (iii) infinitely more comfortable.
Looking forward to giving a colloquium and visiting old friends! 🛤️ 🗻
I switched to infomaniak last year, good replacement for google (mail, drive...) and reasonably price, all in switzerland. no regret!
I've got some questions from my 11yo about black holes, which led to a long discussion and some nice youtube videos binge watching together. I must say Astronomy is a nice way to captivate kids with physics....
Completely packed amphitheater for the first lecture of Pascale Sennelart at @college-de-france.fr for her annual chair on quantum technologies !
Sleep and some sleuthing has helped... this is actually a deadline FOR MY STUDENTS TO SEND ME SOMETHING. 😅
nice trick - I could find the creation date, but browsing through my emails around that day and time didn't really help... I guess i'll find out!
google calendar + mac's native app
I cannot see that info anywhere...
so I have this ominous event in my calendar that says "deadline" tomorrow at 9am but I have no clue what this is... 🤷♂️#AcademicChatter
Come for the single-track program, stay for the deep conversations and the unpublished cutting-edge research. (4/4)
Gordon Research Science are unique events : they provide an immersive single-track environment. It is the ultimate career-changing platform for young scientists to showcase their work, build a lifelong network, and shape the future of imaging alongside global leaders. (3/N)
Check out our amazing speakers across imaging modalities, from Optics to X-ray and acoustics, from consumer device to astronomy and medecine, from hardware to AI. (2/N)
And 🥁 the final program of the *"Image Science" Gordon Research Conference*, to take place in Italy April 26-May 1st, is out!
Please take some time to check the program, apply, *share* with your colleagues.

oups - I just realized I forgot a flight to Sicily :-( so much for 2025 😅 still quite a reduction ....
and it happened : I just came to realize I didn't fly for work in 2025 (I did fly a bit for personal reasons). It wasn't an objective per se, but just being (a bit) picky, and looking for train alternatives when possible did the trick. and I did go to IT, NL, CH, UK, GE, CZ.
A graphic visualization representing a Christmas tree formed entirely of keywords on a black background. The terms are colored in red, pine green, gold, and silver. In the center, the names 'Sylvain' and 'Hilton' as well as the year '2025' appear in very large characters. The branches of the tree are made up of technical scientific terms such as 'Complex Media', 'Transmission Matrix', 'Raman', 'Quantum Imaging', 'Speckle', and 'Neural Networks'. The image symbolizes the scientific production and research axes of the laboratory for the past year.
A merry Christmas from the COMEDIA team at LKB !
