After 6 sessions, I still feel awed to participate in this 250 year old experiment in democracy. It's not a given and we must fight to protect it. In these short 5 weeks, we advanced key policies on housing, immigrant rights and democracy defense - and have much more work ahead. #orpol #orleg
SB 1521 provides greater flexibility and more stringent funding requirements for inclusionary zoning programs in the greater Portland area.
This is a bipartisan victory ensuring Oregon continues to build more homes available to a wider range of income levels.

And our Law Enforcement Accountability and Visibility Act (HB 4138)! 🎉
🎉 Celebrating key bills from our democracy defense agenda crossing the finish line today! I was proud to chief sponsor the Strengthening Patient and Provider Privacy Act (HB 4088), Protect Your Door Act (HB 4114), and Anti-Discrimination Protections for Immigrant Workers (HB 4111). #orpol #orleg
Thank you for all your help, Chair Avalos.
What a joy to welcome my constituent Oriana Korol and the Unpresidented Brass Band to the Capitol this session and celebrate our right to protest with music, creativity, and courage in the face of devastating assaults on our immigrant communities. #iceout #orleg #orpol
It's a start! Thanks to the over 200 Oregonians who took action last week to testify or write to the governor's data center advisory council last week to make your voices heard! Because of your actions, we were able to win this 1.5 yr moratorium on data center tax breaks. https://loom.ly/6GqJ-Ko
Thank you Salem high students for showing up strong for our communities, our families, our neighbors today! I can't think of a better way to end a week that brought important parts of Oregon's immigrant justice package forward. Take action at the link in my bio. Sí, se puede! #orleg #orpol #iceout
Shoutout to @sightline.org's @andersem.bsky.social, who just testified in support of SB 1521 to reform and fully fund inclusionary zoning, to the House Rules committee this afternoon.
Multiple bills endorsed by PNW are continuing to move forward ahead of the end of the legislative session. #orleg
Public education is a cornerstone of our democracy and public schools are the places in our neighborhoods where families access so many vital services and connections. Celebrating passage of the OR federal tax disconnect bill, but we need to do more. I'll be in this fight with you. #orleg #orpol
If Big Tech wants to build here, it should be on Oregon’s terms — strengthening our state – and without another blank check from Oregonians.
Let the Governor's Data Center Advisory Committee know what you think should guide our state's policies around data centers:

Join me in giving your public comment at the Governor’s new Data Center Advisory Committee first public meeting this Friday! This committee's decisions will shape our economy, water, air, and ability to fund essential services for decades to come. Take action here! https://loom.ly/7YYjsqA
This passed the Oregon Senate on Friday, 21-6, with all Democrats and 4 Republicans in favor.
External issues have led to some process hurdles for but thanks to Speaker @repfahey.bsky.social it’s headed to House Rules, then hopefully to the House floor.
@trimet.org’s 72 bus route is the busiest in the state.
I’m lifting up the work of @repthuytran.bsky.social + @repwillychotzen.bsky.social to support $3 million from the legislature to transform a car-centered, dangerous state highway to a safe and welcoming neighborhood street.
🚍 ACTION ALERT! 🚍
82nd Avenue is East Portland's Main Street, and our community deserves frequent and reliable transit.
Join me and Representative Thuy Tran in asking the legislature to fund full Business Access and Transit Lanes on 82nd Avenue: #orleg #orpol

Oregon, I hear you loud and clear. NOW is the time to make sure Oregon legislators hear your voices of support too. Take action to protect our communities from ICE violence, submit testimony, and send your emails here: https://loom.ly/2kwctyI #orleg #OrPol
My A11 amendment--which would have made data centers & crypto currency mining operations ineligible for these tax breaks--failed, but the fight's not over, for econ devt that nurtures OREGON-based businesses, with long-term family-wage jobs, rooted in our state.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who came worked for the last three years as part of our Protect Oregon Journalism coalition to support the Oregon Journalism Protection Act.
While our bill won't be continuing this session, I am committed to carrying this work forward with your support. #orleg #orpol
10 years ago at an APANO Lobby Day with 100 other APANO members advocating for #OurFamiliesOurHealth and housing justice, I never imagined I'd be the State Senator welcoming our community to the Capitol. It's inspiring to imagine the next generation of leaders in our hallways today! #orpol #orleg
This debate is about whose side we are on when resources grow tight.
We are responding to federal tax changes that benefited the wealthiest households and large corporations — changes that create immediate and long-term revenue problems for Oregon.
SB 1507 is a step toward fairness and stability.
Chúc mừng năm mới!
Happy Lunar New Year from the Oregon Senate. Grateful to all of my colleagues who took a moment on the Senate Floor to celebrate by greeting each other with good wishes for the Year of the Horse. #orleg 🐎
This is a budget ask, it's not affiliated with a standalone bill.
Senator Gordly was one of the first Black women and Women of Color in the OR Legislature, and she carried that history with strength, discipline, and deep roots in community. Her legacy shapes how I approach climate, housing, and accountability every day. #orleg #orpol

ACTION ALERT:
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Housing and Development, I need your help to restore $10 million in eviction prevention funding.
Learn more and email your legislators here:

I testified against HB 4046, the Nuclear Study bill, because Oregonians deserve more affordable and less dangerous energy solutions such as solar, wind, and long duration storage. Grateful for the advocacy from communities statewide — including Tribal nations. #orleg #orpol
Oregon needs to build more homes to tackle our housing crisis, and we need to make sure these homes are accessible to Oregonians at all income levels, at all stages of life. I'm so thrilled to see SB 1521 and 1567 advance out of committee.
Grateful for @trimet.org's leadership, and for the community voices who have pushed the agency to prioritize bus service on 82nd Avenue.
This is a victory for healthier, more affordable and more equitable neighborhoods in East Portland.

Oregon's SB 1521, modernizing inclusionary zoning in the Portland metro area, unanimously passes Senate Housing. 🎉
Based on 10 years of lessons, it gives cities new policy options + a requirement that such programs be fully funded.
Moves to senate floor!

Last month set an all time record for the number of evictions in the state of Oregon. This is an emergency, and this legislative session I'm asking my colleagues to add back $10 million to the state's eviction prevention fund to help keep families in stable housing. #orleg https://loom.ly/4Fgb5vs
