The decline of both has been characterised by poor management and petty inter-personal disputes.

He's taken two legendary (and once dominant) sports teams and mismanaged them into the dirt. Now he suggests this as a roadmap for the UK?? Pah!

Screenshot of portion of Guardian article. Text reads: Ratcliffe compared the changes he had made at Manchester United, including mass layoffs and the appointment and subsequent sacking of Ruben Amorim, to running the country. He told Sky News he had been “unpopular” but that the changes were starting to pay off.

“But you’ve got all the same issues with the country. If you really want to deal with the major issues of immigration, with people opting to take benefits rather than working for a living,” he said, the government was “going to have to do some things which are unpopular, and show some courage”.

A change in leadership before the May elections would be disastrous for Labour and George knows it. It's disingenuous to suggest otherwise.

Did I say anything to suggest I think Labour should succeed?

My point is that George is being disingenuous. A change of leadership before May would be disastrous for Labour and he knows it.

A new leader before the May elections which are likely to be disastrous for them?

I don't think your goals or strategy align with anyone who wants to see Labour succeed.

As a journalist, I'd have hoped for more candour.
