It's the time of year where our sunflower gets sun
I think that was from some episode of Bill Moyers journal circa 2007, but I'm really not sure of the exact source. The quote just really stuck with me.
I know there's a lot going on, but control of the media is an incredibly important topic. To quote some interview I vaguely remember: "whatever your top issue is, this should be your second... They don't tell you what to think, but they tell you what to think about" www.nytimes.com/2026/03/05/o...
This is why I generally don't like C++ development. It's not the language. I mostly like the language. But I find boost and a few other widely used libs hard to understand and really easy to misuse. It's not all bad, but I struggle with it.
And yes, there are other salt basins in Utah. E.g. the Paradox. Those don't have large autochthonous salt domes suitable for storage (please prove me wrong there). The only one in Utah, so far as I know, is the ~Miocene one around Delta.
Also, while we're at it, the salt is not from the time of the dinosaurs. It's much younger. It's not a remnant of an ancient ocean. It's essentially from an earlier version of the great salt lake.
There's only one known salt dome in Utah. And it doesn't work for this.
Did anyone think to do any research at all for this? These are solution mined caverns. The only entrance is a small pipe. How would you get nuclear waste (most of which is low grade and in large barrels) into the pipe?
Storage in conventional salt mines is feasible. But those don't exist here.
Iβm curious if the U.S. is going to exercise shutter control on commercial satellite imagery providers for this.
Thanks for bringing some brightly-colored data levity to a dark morning.
Our big news is that we might have a bar within a few blocks of a park... Because that's currently illegal due to.... Reasons.... Logic and all....
Seriously. This game is some of the best hockey I've watched in a long while and I watch a lot of games.

βNow seeds,β said Toad, βstart growing.β
Toad walked up and down a few times. The seeds did not start to grow.

JoAnn made me gwumpki! (Yes, I know that's not the proper Polish spelling, but it's a US keyboard and that's how it's pronounced...)
I frickin love these! (Picture is before cooking with tomato paste/etc)
Okay, I will fully admit we got lucky there, but hell yeah!! Hellebuyck!
