Got our first hybrid (Honda CRV Sport) a couple yrs ago and *love* it! Besides the 36 mpg, I love the performance you get from combined EV/gas. Also helps that it's just a really well designed car overall.

The legacy systems excuse is bullshit. Data (and coding, most likely COBOL) formats for old systems are too simple to not be able to update. If it exists as a recognizable alphanumeric string in an electronic format, it can be processed automatically regardless of size or quantity.

The trick is finding qualified Evangelicals. They are mostly suspicious of secular higher education, so tend to discourage their kids from attending schools other than protestant "Christian" colleges, if at all. Kinda diminishes the pool of professionals. No wonder they appeal to the uneducated.
I grew up in Assembly of God churches (hard core Evangelical iydk). Higher education was looked at suspiciously bc "everything you could ever need to know is in the Bible". My HS youth pastor told me I shouldn't go to college. So, yeah, they're great at appealing to the uneducated. 😒
