Poland's first LGBTQ+ museum opens to visitors Poland's first LGBT+ museum, the QueerMuzeum, has opened to visitors in Warsaw. The project was led by Poland's oldest LGBT+ organisation.

There have been many dedicated LGBTIQA+ museums opening around the world in recent years - I think this signals the complex context in which our communities exist in and highlights the role of museums to not only preserve but educate and advocate. blooloop.com/museum/news/...

Last night the National Museum of Australia was recognised by the Canberra tourism sector, being Highly Commended for our Discovering Ancient Egypt exhibition in the Major Festivals and Events Category. 💙💛

It was joy to share the stage with Nicole Sutherland and Matthew Cunneen who brought their own knowledge and important perspectives to bear on the topic.

Thanks also to Virginia Rigney for her excellent chairing, and deep knowledge of Sidney Nolan.

Inspired by Sidney Nolan’s For the Term of His Natural Life series, the conversation explored convict history from the lens of display and interpretation, multiple narratives, national identity, and more.

Thanks Canberra Museum and Gallery for the invitation to think-out-loud about how museums (re)present convict histories.
